Reporting to the Discipline Manager - Civil, you'll remain hands-on in project delivery while helping drive team performance, capability development, resource planning and technical excellence.\nThis role has a strong focus on Main Roads WA projects and requires a leader who can confidently navigate road planning, concept design, detailed design, design assurance, and construction support activities.\nKey Responsibilities:\nYou'll be responsible for:\nLeading and mentoring a team of road engineers and designers\nDelivering road design packages from concept through to detailed design and construction support\nProviding technical oversight and guidance across transport infrastructure projects\nEnsuring compliance with Main Roads WA standards, Austroads Guides, Australian Standards and project-specific requirements\nSupporting design reviews, technical assurance activities and Safety in Design processes\nManaging interfaces across drainage, pavements, structures, traffic, utilities, environmental and geotechnical disciplines\nBuilding and maintaining strong relationships with clients, stakeholders and project teams\nSupporting project planning, forecasting, budgeting and commercial delivery objectives\nContributing to bids, proposals and business development activities\nDriving continuous improvement, technical excellence and knowledge sharing within the team\nSkills & Experience Required:\nA Bachelor of Civil Engineering or equivalent qualification\n12+ years' experience in roads engineering design\nDemonstrated experience delivering road and transport infrastructure projects\nStrong knowledge of Austroads Guides, Australian Standards and road authority requirements\nExperience working on Main Roads WA projects and applying MRWA standards and supplements\nProven capability in road geometry, alignment, intersection and multidisciplinary transport design\nExperience leading, mentoring or developing engineers and technical teams\nStrong stakeholder engagement and communication skills\nCommercial awareness and the ability to balance technical quality with project outcomes\nChartered Engineer status (or progress towards chartership) will be highly regarded\nDesirable Experience:\nExperience in any of the following will be advantageous:\nAlliance, Design & Construct or major infrastructure project environments\nOpenRoads Designer, AutoCAD and AutoTURN\nProjectWise, Bluebeam and GIS platforms\nConstruction support, staging and traffic management interfaces\nAbout KBR:\nKBR is renowned for working in partnership with our clients and construction partners to deliver exceptional outcomes based on our collaborative approach and our “One Team” value.\nCreating a superb culture is also huge for us and a key part of our success and growth.
