Grow. with KBR!\nKBR is seeking a highly skilled Senior Cloud Database Engineer to lead the design, implementation, and management of enterprise cloud data infrastructure in support of a federal civilian agency’s mission. This role is responsible for delivering scalable, secure, and efficient database architectures across multi-cloud environments with a primary focus on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).\nThe ideal candidate will have deep expertise in data architecture, cloud-native database solutions, and interoperability across diverse data systems, with the ability to support mission-focused objectives and enterprise-level digital transformation.\nKey Responsibilities:\nDesign and manage enterprise cloud-based data infrastructure to meet evolving operational, analytical, and mission support requirements.\nLead the development of robust, scalable database designs optimized for cloud deployment, performance, and security.\nEnsure compatibility and interoperability across distributed data sources, platforms, and applications.\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams to align data architecture with broader IT strategies and mission delivery objectives.\nOptimize database performance and scalability through query tuning, indexing strategies, and lifecycle management.\nImplement and maintain data security controls, backup and recovery solutions, and compliance measures aligned with federal standards.\nDocument database design decisions, configurations, integrations, and operational processes.\nProvide thought leadership on the evolution of the agency’s data environment, supporting cloud migration and modernization efforts.\nRequired Qualifications:\nEducation: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a closely related field.\nExperience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in cloud database architecture and management supporting large-scale enterprise environments with 8-10 years of progressive database experience.\nCertifications (All required):Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Architect Certification\nOCI Implementation Specialist Certification\n\nTechnical Skills:Proficiency in database design, data modeling, SQL, and performance tuning.\nHands-on experience managing data environments in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.\nUnderstanding of interoperability principles, cloud-native storage, and integration strategies.\n\nClearance Ability to obtain a TS/SCI\nCommunication: Strong communication skills required for technical leadership, stakeholder engagement, and oral presentations.\nBachelors degree in engineering, or computer science, or equivalent work experience\nBelong, Connect and Grow at KBR\nAt KBR, we are passionate about our people and our Zero Harm culture.
