By joining KBR, you become part of a team that works together, shares common values and is united in delivering great outcomes.\nWe are renowned for working in partnership with our clients and construction partners to deliver exceptional outcomes based on our collaborative approach and our “One Team” value.\nThe Opportunity\nBased in our Sydney office, we are seeking a Senior Fire Protection Engineer to join our Building Services team.\nThis is a key technical position within our national Fire Protection team and an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional looking to take ownership of complex and high-profile infrastructure, buildings and defence projects. You will provide specialist fire protection engineering expertise across all project phases, from concept development through to detailed design and delivery.\nWorking closely with project managers, discipline leads and clients, you will lead the design and delivery of fire protection systems, provide technical guidance to developing engineers and designers, and contribute to the continued growth of KBR's Fire Protection capability across Australia.\nKey Responsibilities\nLead the design and delivery of complex fire protection systems across major projects.\nProvide technical leadership and quality assurance for fire services designs, calculations and documentation.\nReview and approve engineering deliverables produced by other team members.\nAct as a key client interface and trusted technical advisor.\nSupport bid preparation, business development and project planning activities.\nMentor and develop junior engineers and designers within the Fire Protection team.\nDrive innovation and continuous improvement in fire protection engineering practices.\nEnsure all project outcomes meet relevant safety, regulatory and commercial requirements.\nDue to the focus on defence projects, the successful candidate must be an Australian citizen.\nWho are you?\nAs a Senior Fire Protection Engineer, you are a technically strong and commercially aware professional with extensive experience delivering complex fire protection solutions across buildings, infrastructure and/or defence environments.\nYou are comfortable leading projects, guiding junior team members and acting as a trusted advisor to clients. Your ability to balance technical excellence with practical project outcomes allows you to develop innovative and compliant fire protection solutions for a diverse range of projects.\nYou will also have the following skills and experience:\nNSW Wet and Dry Fire Accreditation (FPAS, FSD Accreditation, C14/C8 Registered Certifier or equivalent).\nExtensive experience designing, reviewing and delivering wet and dry fire services systems.\nProven capability in preparing and reviewing fire protection specifications, reports, calculations and technical documentation.\nStrong understanding of the National Construction Code (NCC), Australian Standards and fire protection industry requirements.\nAbility to lead technical delivery across multiple projects simultaneously.\nExperience managing client relationships and engaging directly with key stakeholders.\nDemonstrated experience mentoring and developing junior engineers and designers.\nStrong knowledge of multidisciplinary design coordination and engineering delivery processes.\nWorking knowledge of Revit MEP is desirable.\nBachelor Degree in Engineering (Mechanical or related discipline) & Chartered Professional Engineer status (or actively working towards chartership)\nAt KBR, we value you - here’s how\nIn addition to working on some fantastic projects, KBR offer an array of benefits focused on providing our people with a great working environment, continual career development, family friendly flexible work arrangements and work/life balance.
