In this position, your work will have a profound impact on the country’s most critical role - protecting our national security.\nKBR has an opportunity for a Space Systems Engineer in Colorado Springs, CO to provide Systems Engineering and Technical Advisory (SETA) services focused on support for systems engineering activities and protection of space systems.\nKey Responsibilities:\nDirectly contribute to government’s mission success through comprehensive analysis, thought leadership and proactive action.\nAssist in planning and oversight of the government’s systems engineering efforts.\nSupport space protection and mission integration as directed by the government.\nReview documentation, represent government interests in forums that support streamlined delivery of new capabilities and standardization of integration efforts.\nWork Environment:\nLocation: On-site\n\nTravel Requirements: Minimal 20%\n\nWorking Hours: Standard\n\nBasic Compensation:\n$110,000 - $120,000 USD annually\nThe offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.\nQUALIFICATIONS\nRequired:\nUS Citizenship\nActive TS/SCI clearance with polygraph\nBachelor’s degree in science, technology, engineering, mathematics (STEM) or relevant field, and three (3) years or more experience, Masters in STEM or relevant field, and one (1) year or more experience.\nExperience in systems engineering processes (e.g. SE lifecycle, risk management, change management, etc.).\nStrong understanding of integrating Government capabilities into operations baseline.\nExpert at defining solutions for broad, abstract topics; succinctly captures issues for the customer and provides analysis and recommendations.\nAbility to work independently and with a team, operate effectively with contractor, SETA, FFRDC, and Government teammates.\nSelf-starter, anticipates and proactively addresses customer requirements with no supervision, ability to manage multiple tasks and deliverables.\nPolished communicator (written/verbal) with impeccable interpersonal skills and personal judgment.\nMaster at collaboration and coordination with multiple stakeholders -- consensus builder.\nQUALIFICATIONS\nDesired:\nWorking knowledge of joint operations planning processes.\nReal-time operations experience as a spacecraft or ground systems operator\nFamiliar with MBSE/Digital Engineering, AGILE development, cloud technologies\nExperience with Jira, Confluence\nKnowledge of satellite constellations, spacecraft orbit, and ground station characteristics.\nKnowledge of space protection topics related to satellite operations (e.g. launch, communications, navigation, maneuvers, etc.), threat/risk assessments, vulnerability analysis.\nReady to Make a Difference?\nIf you’re excited about making a significant impact in the field of space defense and working on projects that matter, we encourage you to apply and join our team at KBR.
