But we all share one goal: to improve the world responsibly and safely.\nSr Engineering Documentation Specialist\nKBR is looking for an Engineering Documentation Specialist to support the design, development, testing, and deployment of NASA Goddard Space Flight Center’s (GSFC) next generation satellite laser ranging system, the Space Geodesy Satellite Laser Ranging (SGSLR) system.\nhttps://space-geodesy.nasa.gov/NSGN/SGSLR.html\nResponsibilities:\nWork alongside engineers to create technical design, operations, maintenance, & drawing documents for existing and future systems\nCreate new and update any legacy documents already developed\nUse engineering documentation, operator and maintenance manuals, logistics data, and direction from engineers to create, write, revise, standardize, edit, review, and finalize documents\nResearch, develop, and/or update content for printed manuals, Contract Data Requirements Lists (CDRLs), I-types, and Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) documents, illustrations, and parts breakdown manuals\nGather and research technical information, including engineering and development information, for use in documentation activities, prepare draft material for internal review by subject matter experts and final review by customer\nLead, Coach and Mentor Junior Technical Writing Staff\nMust exhibit flexibility of work hours to adjust to surge situations based on critical mission requirements\nTravel may be required to support projects; this may involve airline travel\n***Must be a U.S. Citizen or Green Card Holder and be able to obtain a Common Access Card (CAC)***\nApplicant selected must be able to obtain a passport for potential international travel.\nApplicant must disclose any countries for which they are restricted from travel.\nRequired Education, Experience, & Skills:\nBachelor’s degree in related field\n8 + years of engineering related technical writing experience\nIn lieu of formal education, equivalent related experience is accepted. Specific contract requirements regarding education and experience will prevail.\nAbility to read & edit engineering drawings, blueprints, wiring diagrams and schematics\nProven ability to prepare draft material for internal review by subject matter experts and final review by customer\nMust be flexible and have the ability to adapt to new information and programs\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills\nPrevious experience researching, reviewing and understanding technical information as well as developing procedural information for technical documentation\nPrevious experience with video training and capturing images with a camera, photo manipulation\nWorking knowledge and experience with space, engineering support, or IT related projects\nProficient in Microsoft office suite, Visio & Adobe Acrobat Pro\nPreferred Experience & Skills:\nCAD products, including but not limited to AutoCad & SolidWorks\nExperience working with NASA technical documents related to technical manual development, delivery, and integrated logistics support\nBasic Compensation:\n$102,700 - $168,000\nThe offered rate will be based on contract affordability and the selected candidate's working location, knowledge, skills, and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.\nKBR Benefits\nKBR offers a selection of competitive lifestyle benefits which could include 401K plan with company match, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, AD&D, flexible spending account, disability, paid time off, or flexible work schedule.
