The program focuses on ensuring operational readiness, reliability, and safety of automotive and ground support equipment critical to Army operations.\nUnder this contract, personnel provide maintenance, repair, overhaul, and sustainment support in accordance with Army technical manuals, safety standards, and performance requirements.\nJob Summary\nAs a Plumber, you will report to and receive assignments, instructions, and direction from the Foreman or General Foreman. You will install, service, and repair all facets of plumbing from water heaters, urinals, toilets and shower units.\nThis position is contingent upon award\nRoles and Responsibilities\nProvide leadership, instruction, and guidance to more junior craftsmen and may reassign work delegated from supervisor.\nComplete records, maintain tools and equipment, and perform various clean-up and housekeeping activities.\nObserve and follow all safety rules and procedures, including wearing the required personal protective equipment (PPE).\nAssemble, install and repair pipes, fittings and fixtures of heating, water, and drainage systems, according to specifications and plumbing codes in support of construction and maintenance activities using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement, plastic solvent, caulking, or soldering, brazing and welding equipment.\nCut openings in structures to accommodate pipes and pipe fittings, using hand and power tools.\nFill pipes or plumbing fixtures with water or air and observe pressure gauges to detect and locate leaks.\nHang steel supports from ceiling joists to hold pipes in place.\nInstall pipe assemblies, fittings, valves, and fixtures such as sinks and toilets.\nInstall underground storm, sanitary and water piping systems and extend piping to connect fixtures and plumbing to these systems.\nLocate and mark the position of pipe installations, connections, passage holes, and fixtures in structures, using measuring instruments such as rulers and levels.\nMeasure, cut, and thread pipe using hand and power tools or machines such as pipe cutters and pipe-threading machines.\nRepair and maintain plumbing, replacing defective washers, replacing, or mending broken pipes and opening clogged drains.\nStudy building plans and inspect structures to assess material and equipment needs to establish the sequence of pipe installations and plan installations around obstructions such as electrical wiring.\nReview blueprints and building codes and specifications to determine work details and procedures.\nPerform other duties as assigned.\nBasic Qualifications\nRequires a High School Diploma or equivalent and at least 5 years of plumbing experience with a background in residential and commercial work.\nKnowledge of water heaters, pop-off valves or relief valves, and heating elements related to water heaters is required.\nAbility to obtain or maintain a U.S. Government security clearance, as required.\nU.S. citizenship required.\nPreferred Qualifications\nHave a Journeyman Plumber’s License or Plumbing associated DD-214.\nThe salary range for this position is $60,000 - $89,900. Compensation offered will depend on qualifications, experience, work location, and business considerations. This range reflects the minimum and maximum target compensation for the position at the time of posting and may be modified in the future. Additional compensation and benefits may be available based on role eligibility.\nAdditional Information\nThis position will be a part of a physical work environment that requires standing, walking, and lifting. There is potential exposure to machinery, tools, fuels, oils, and outdoor conditions.
