KBR is recognized as Honeywell’s #1 rated vendor, demonstrating its commitment to excellence in the aerospace sector.\nJob Summary\nQuality Inspector - Aerospace Source Inspection: Newark, NJ.\nIn this role, the Quality Inspector will perform source inspections at supplier manufacturing facilities to ensure compliance with customer, contractual, and quality system requirements for aerospace and electronic components.\nThis is a field-based position requiring independent travel to supplier locations throughout New Jersey and surrounding areas as needed.\nThe ideal candidate will possess strong technical inspection experience, professionalism in customer and supplier interactions, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Successful candidates will be self-motivated, organized, and capable of managing multiple supplier assignments.\nRoles and Responsibilities\nConduct source inspections at supplier facilities.\n\nVerify compliance with customer requirements, engineering drawings, specifications, purchase order requirements and applicable industry standards.\n\nPerform visual, dimensional and documentation inspections.\n\nUtilize precision measuring equipment including calipers, micrometers, height gages, thread gages, and other inspection tools.\n\nVerify calibration and certification status for inspection equipment.\n\nReview manufacturing and quality documentation including certifications, travelers, inspection reports, material traceability, and test data.\n\nComplete inspection reports and documentation accurately and within required timelines.\n\nCommunicate professionally with suppliers, customers, and internal KBR personnel regarding inspection status and quality concerns.\n\nMaintain all required qualifications, certifications, training, and medical requirements, including annual vision examinations, certification renewals, and mandatory compliance training.\n\nSupport a culture of safety and operational excellence through participation in near-miss reporting, continuous improvement initiatives, and other company directed activities.\n\nBasic Qualifications\nHigh school diploma or equivalent required.\n\nMinimum three (3) years of quality inspection experience in aerospace, manufacturing, electronics, or a related field.\n\nU.S. Citizenship required due to customer requirements.\n\nAbility to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, blueprints and technical documentation.\n\nWorking knowledge of quality systems, inspection methodologies, and manufacturing processes.\n\nExperience using standard inspection and measurement tools.\n\nKnowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).\n\nStrong written and verbal communication skills.\n\nAbility to work independently and manage travel schedules effectively.\n\nMust successfully complete and maintain customer and KBR qualification requirements, including vision exams, GD&T exam, and other technical evaluations as applicable.\n\nPreferred Qualifications\nPrevious source inspection or supplier audit experience.\n\nIPC-A-610, J-STD-001, IPC/WHMA-A-620, and/or IPC-A-600 certification.\n\nFamiliarity with AS9100.\n\nExperience supporting NASA, DoD, aerospace, or other high-reliability manufacturing customers.\n\nTravel Requirements\nLocal and regional travel required based on supplier support needs.\n\nCandidates must possess a valid driver’s license and maintain the ability to travel independently.\n\nMileage reimbursement provided in accordance with current federal reimbursement rates.\n\nLodging, Meals & Incidental Expenses (M&IE) per diem provided for qualifying travel in accordance with company travel policies.\n\nKBR Benefits\nSalary Range: $27-32 an hour.
