This role is responsible for managing projects from preconstruction through completion while ensuring safety, schedule, quality, and financial performance.\nWhy Join KCI Construction?\nEmployee-Owned Company (ESOP) - Share in the success you help create.\nEnjoy Unlimited Paid Time Off\n100% Employer Paid Benefits for Employee and Dependents\nWork on meaningful infrastructure and civil construction projects\nStrong culture built on Growth, Resilience, Integrity, and Teamwork (GRiT)\nOpportunities for long-term career development and leadership growth\nWhat You Will Do\nProject Leadership\nManage heavy civil construction projects from planning through closeout.\nOversee projects involving earthwork, excavation, grading, underground utilities, storm sewer, sanitary sewer, waterline installation, and roadway construction.\nLead project planning, scheduling, and execution in partnership with Superintendents and field teams.\nEnsure projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and in accordance with contract requirements.\nFinancial & Cost Management\nManage project budgets, cost tracking, and monthly profit projections.\nMaintain accurate cost coding and cost books.\nIdentify cost risks early and implement corrective actions.\nPrepare and submit monthly owner pay applications.\nSubcontractor & Procurement Management\nDevelop scopes of work and manage subcontract agreements.\nProcure major materials and subcontract services to support project schedules.\nReview and approve subcontractor and vendor invoices.\nProject Coordination\nPartner closely with Superintendents to coordinate field and office operations.\nLead project meetings with owners, engineers, inspectors, and subcontractors.\nCoordinate equipment, materials, and subcontractor activities to maintain project progress.\nChange Management\nIdentify and price change order opportunities.\nPrepare and negotiate change proposals with owners and engineers.\nManage project submittals and documentation to support schedule and compliance.\nClient & Stakeholder Communication\nServe as the primary liaison with owners, municipalities, DOT representatives, engineers and inspectors. \nMaintain strong relationships with project stakeholders to support successful project delivery.\nWhat You Bring\nBachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred. \n2+ years of experience in heavy civil construction project management. \nStrong knowledge of earthwork operations, underground utilities, and civil infrastructure construction.\nExperience working with municipal, DOT, or public infrastructure projects preferred.\nAbility to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contracts. \nStrong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.\nAlignment with KCI GRiT Values. \nTechnical Skills\nMicrosoft Office Suite\nConstruction scheduling software\nExperience with HCSS preferred\nVista experience a plus\nKCI is proud to be an Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action Employer.
