All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability or veteran status.\nDuties, Responsibilities & Other\nField Leadership & Oversight\nServe as the primary leader for all field-based construction activities across multiple OSP projects.\nDirectly oversee and mentors field crews, ensuring consistent execution and accountability for day-to-day field operations.\nMaintain a strong and regular presence in the field - leading by example and ensuring field teams are supported, informed, and aligned with company goals.\nResolve escalated issues in the field related to logistics, permitting, crew performance, safety, and subcontractor management.\nProject Execution & Coordination\nCoordinate closely with Project Managers, Engineers, and Scheduling teams to align construction activities with overall project timelines.\nWork with PM’s and Sr. CM monitor progress against project milestones and budgets, identifying and addressing delays or risks early.\nReview and validate project plans, drawings, and field conditions to anticipate and avoid construction challenges.\nEnsure all construction activities adhere to internal standards, client expectations, and local/state/federal regulations.\nTeam Management & Development\nProvide leadership, coaching, and professional development to KCI field crews.\nConduct regular team meetings, one-on-one check-ins, and performance reviews.\nPromote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.\nQuality Control & Safety\nImplement and enforce safety protocols in compliance with OSHA and company policies.\nConduct site audits and inspections to ensure work meets quality and design standards.\nAddress non-compliance issues promptly and effectively, working with safety and QA/QC personnel as needed.\nClient & Subcontractor Interaction\nServe as a field liaison with clients, municipalities, and subcontractors to ensure expectations are met or exceeded.\nSupport onboarding, oversight, and performance management of subcontractors and vendors.\nReporting & Communication\nProvide regular field updates and progress reports to Sr. Construction Manager and Project Managers.\nTrack key metrics (e.g., productivity, crew performance, milestones) and present findings during project reviews.\nParticipate in project planning meetings, and post-project evaluations.\nPerferred Qualifications:\n6+ years of experience in Outside Plant (OSP) construction, with at least 2+ years in a leadership or construction management role.\nExperience leading internal field based open excavation crews and directional drill crews along with Subcontractors.\nAn emphasis on crew efficiencies and performance.\nGeneral understanding of OSP infrastructure, including aerial and underground fiber installations, splicing, permitting, and inspections.\nStrong interpersonal and leadership skills, with the ability to manage and motivate teams.\nExperience working with project schedules, budgets, and construction tracking software.\nAbility to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and scopes of work.\nValid driver’s license with a clean driving record and the ability to obtain a DOT Card.\nWillingness to travel regularly to job sites across regions as needed\n* Essential Duties and Responsibilities are the basic job functions that an employee must be able to perform, with or without reasonable accommodation. \nQualifications\nEducation and/or Skills Required:\nMinimum of 6 years of relevant work experience with a high school diploma/GED or minimum of 4 years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree. \nAbility to understand construction plans, specifications, and procedures. \nDemonstrate basic math skills, including geometry and trigonometry. \nPossess the ability to read, write, and communicate fluently. \nWork effectively as a team member and complete daily reports by hand and computer. \nAbility to establish strong working relationships with various stakeholders.\nCertificates, licenses, and/or Registrations Required:\nValid Driver’s License\nAbility to maintain required certifications.\nPre-employment drug screening and background check are conditions of employment.
