This role involves close coordination with developers, government agencies, and community members.\nKey Responsibilities:\nManage Enviromental tasks for transportation projects.\nConduct field studies as necessary including wetland delineations and assessments for threatened and/or endangered species.\nConduct background research to indentify resources present for transportation projects.\nPrepare technical reports for various impacted resources. \nEnsure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.\nConduct public hearings and participate in community outreach initiatives.\nReview, approve, and recommend changes to technical reports.\nPrepare detailed reports, presentations, and plans for senior management and stakeholders.\nProvide technical expertise in zoning, land use, transportation, and environmental issues.\nProvide technical oversight for projects and staff.\nComplete all tasks on time and within budget while fully meeting project scope.\nAchieve or exceed budgets individual utilization targets.\nComply with all KCI policies and procedures.\nEnsure projects comply with ISO standards.\nConduct and submit timely annual Employee Performance Appraisals for assigned staff.\nMentor and develop junior staff and mid-level planners.\n* Essential Duties and Responsibilities are the basic job functions that an employee must be able to perform, with or without reasonable accommodation.\nQualifications\nEducation and/or Skills Required:\nMinimum of 5 years of experience in related field.\nBachelor’s degree in environmental planning, transportation planning, urban planning or related discipline\nStrong proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.\nProficiency in GIS software.\nExcellent public speaking, presentation, and interpersonal skills.\nStrong leadership, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.\nGood communication and technical writing skills.\nDetail-oriented with strong organizational skills.\nAbility to work collaboratively in a team environment.\nStrong problem-solving skills and ability to think critically.\nEducation and/or Work Experience Preferred:\nPrevious internships or work experience in this industry.\nCertificates, licenses, and/or Registrations Required:\nValid Driver’s License\nAbility to maintain required certifications.\nCertificates, licenses, and/or Registrations Preferred:\nAICP or CEP preferred.\nPre-employment drug screening and background check are conditions of employment.
