You also may mentor and manage lower-level Design Technicians. You will work closely with a team under the supervision of a project manager to ensure that all designs meet the approval standards of federal, state, and local agencies. Your role involves reviewing and interpreting technical documents, preparing accurate reports, and ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget. You will be expected to demonstrate attention to detail, collaborate effectively with team members, and interface with clients and other professionals to meet project requirements.\nThe key responsibilities of this role include:\nProject and Financial Management\nManage the workflow of assigned staff, delegating tasks as necessary to ensure timely and efficient project completion. \nAchieve or exceed budgeted individual utilization targets while operating within specific budget parameters for projects.\nAttend regular project meetings, consult, and coordinate with other practices and sub-consultants as needed to achieve project objectives. \nCommunicate effectively with colleagues and clients, demonstrating respect and professionalism at all times. \nTechnical Proficiency and Essential Competencies\nUtilize your expertise in design principles and engineering fundamentals to produce accurate and compliant construction drawings. \nGather and analyze field data, measurements, sketches and other relevant information to inform design decisions. \nRead and interpret technical documents, design manuals, and jurisdictional requirements to ensure compliance and accuracy. \nSize and specify design requirements based on project specifications and client needs.\nMentor and train junior staff, fostering their growth and professional development. \nLead by example, inspiring those around you to excel and embody our shared values. \nCompliance, Safety, and Standards\nAdhere to all company policies and procedures, as well as regulatory requirements, including ISO compliance standards. \nIdentify, implement, and adhere to safe working practices. \n* Essential Duties and Responsibilities are the basic job functions that an employee must be able to perform, with or without reasonable accommodation.\nThe job description is not designed to contain a complete listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee. Other duties, responsibilities and activities may change or be assigned at any time.\nQualifications\nEducation and/or Work Experience Required:\nRequires a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience with a High School Diploma or GED, 9 years with an Associate's Degree, or 8 years with a Bachelor's Degree.\nProven experience in field technician roles, with a track record of successful completion of assigned projects.\nStrong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.\nExcellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with clients, team members, and stakeholders.\nKnowledge of industry standards and best practices related to quality assurance and safety protocols.\nStrong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues and implement effective solutions in a fast-paced environment.\nStrong knowledge and proficiency in AutoCAD. \nExperience with Microsoft Suite; Photoshop and Google Earth\nEducation and/or Work Experience Preferred:\nBachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent\nPre-employment drug screening and background check are conditions of employment.
