All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability or veteran status.\nDuties, Responsibilities & Other\nThe Clean Energy Engineering Intern will work under the supervision of a technical manager within KCI’s Clean Energy Engineering Discipline, supporting projects related to renewable energy, distributed energy resources, battery energy storage systems (BESS), microgrids, power generation, and energy infrastructure. This internship provides hands-on exposure to real-world engineering projects, multidisciplinary collaboration, and field activities. Interns will be assigned a dedicated supervisor, participate in structured learning opportunities, apply academic knowledge to project work, and complete required reports and presentations.\nKey Responsibilities:\nDepending on the Engineering Intern’s career field, duties may include:\nAssist with the development of engineering designs, plans, specifications, cost estimates, and technical calculations for clean energy and power infrastructure projects. \nSupport data collection, analysis, modeling, and reporting efforts to evaluate project feasibility, performance, and design alternatives. \nParticipate in field investigations, site visits, equipment inspections, and commissioning support activities as required. \nPerform entry-level engineering, design, drafting, and documentation tasks using industry-standard software and tools. \nAssist in the preparation of engineering studies, technical memoranda, interconnection support documents, and project reports. \nCoordinate with electrical, civil, structural, environmental, and other engineering disciplines to support integrated project delivery. \nSupport quality assurance and quality control processes in accordance with KCI and applicable industry standards. \nDevelop an understanding of renewable energy technologies, energy storage systems, utility interconnections, and emerging clean energy solutions. \nEffectively manage assigned tasks, meet project deadlines, and contribute to successful project outcomes. \nDemonstrate a positive attitude, strong work ethic, intellectual curiosity, and a commitment to continuous learning and professional development. \n* Essential Duties and Responsibilities are the basic job functions that an employee must be able to perform, with or without reasonable accommodation. \nQualifications\nEducation and/or Skills Required:\nThis is an entry level position where no previous experience is required. \nCurrently enrolled in an ABET-Accredited College Engineering Program \nEducation and/or Work Experience Preferred:\n3.0 GPA or higher preferred \nCertificates, licenses, and/or Registrations Required:\nValid Driver’s License \n\nPre-employment drug screening and background check are conditions of employment.
