Typical projects include feasibility studies and preliminary and final design of construction projects. Duties mayinclude the following:\nPrepare highway and intersection improvement plans including computing vertical and horizontal geometrics\nPrepare traffic signal, pavement marking, signing, lighting, and maintenance of traffic plans\nPerform traffic data collection and other relevant field assessments\nPerform traffic analyses\nPrepare traffic and safety studies\nPrepare quantity and cost estimates\nPrepare written reports\nParticipation in virtual and onsite presentations and meetings with internal and external clients\nThe most qualified candidate will possess the following skills, experience and attributes:\nFamiliarity with standard references such as the AASHTO Green Book, the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices, the Highway Safety Manual and the Highway Capacity Manual\nFamiliarity with MSHA, DelDOT, VDOT, DDOT and/or Maryland County/City design standards and guidelines\nComputer skills including training in CADD (MICROSTATION, OPEN ROADS, GEOPAK), HCS, SYNCHRO/SIM-TRAFFIC, Vistro, VISSIM, SIDRA, VISUAL, AGi32, Microsoft WORD and Microsoft EXCEL\nStrong verbal and written communication skills\n* Essential Duties and Responsibilities are the basic job functions that an employee must be able to perform, with or without reasonable accommodation.\nQualifications\nEducation and/or Skills Required:\nMinimum of 2 years of relevant experience.\nBachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET-Accredited Program\nProficiency in required design software such as MicroStation, AutoCAD, or Revit.\nStrong proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.\nGood communication and technical writing skills.\nDetail-oriented with strong organizational skills.\nAbility to work collaboratively in a team environment.\nStrong problem-solving skills and ability to think critically.\nCertificates, licenses, and/or Registrations Required:\nAbility to maintain required certifications\nCertificates, licenses, and/or Registrations Preferred:\nEngineer-in-Training (EIT) certification\nPre-employment drug screening is a condition of employment.
