Newtown Pike Campus\nDepartment: Academics, & Student Services\nTotal Rewards\nBluegrass Community & Technical College offers a competitive benefits package and an attractive work environment that supports excellence, innovation, and creativity, including:\nExceptional health care, vision, and dental coverage for you and your family\nTuition reimbursement/waiver for you, your spouse, and dependents\n403(b) retirement plan: a 5% employee contribution receives a 10% employer match\nVacation/Sick Time\nWork-Life Balance\n9.5 Paid Holidays\n2 Weeks Institutional Closing Pay (Last 2 weeks of December) for qualifying positions\nEmployee Assistance Program\nJob Summary\nTeaches primarily Environmental Science to students, advises students, maintains office hours, provides internal service to the college as assigned, provides external service as a representative of the college, pursues professional development, and provides leadership where appropriate.\nThis position is an in-person faculty role primarily assigned to the Newtown Campus- Lexington, KY\nJob Duties:\nTeach transferable general Ecology and Hydrology lectures and laboratories.\nTeach technical Environmental Science lectures and laboratories.\nDevelop syllabi, course materials, exams, etc.\nOrder materials, set up/break down labs, and maintain the EST lab and instruments.\nUse technology in lectures, laboratories, and online to enhance student learning.\nWork closely with fellow EST and Natural Sciences faculty.\nAssist adjunct instructors and substitute for absent instructors as needed.\nAdhere to all institutional policies and procedures.\nMaintain appropriate standards of professional conduct and ethics.\nParticipate in internal and external service within the college.\nEngage in an appropriate level of professional development as a faculty member.\nRegular availability for students through office hours.\nCompletion of any College/System required training.\nOther duties as assigned by the assistant dean or college leadership. \nMinimum Qualifications:\nMaster's degree or above in Environmental Science or closely related field.\nOr Master's degree or above in any subject with a minimum of 18 graduate hours completed in Environmental Science or closely related subject matter. \nPreferred Qualifications:\nPrevious experience teaching at the college level.\nQualification to teach general Geology, Biology, or Chemistry also preferred. \nAdditional Skills Requested:\nEmployee Rights -Employee Polygraph Protection Act\n Equal Opportunity Employer -
