preparing financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements across multiple business entities.\n\nMaintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of financial records.\n\nPrepare and process journal entries for month-end and year-end closing procedures.\n\nAssist in preparing budgets, financial forecasts, and variance analysis reports.\n\nSupport the preparation of financial reports and presentations for management and external stakeholders.\n\nProvide coverage and support for Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) functions.\n\nReconcile and analyse freight and logistics expenses, including transportation costs, customs duties, warehousing fees, and other related expenses, to ensure accuracy and identify any discrepancies or irregularities.\n\nIdentify cost-saving opportunities and recommend strategies to optimize logistics-related expenses.\n\nPrepare detailed reports and presentations on freight and logistics expenditures, highlighting key findings, trends, and actionable insights for management and stakeholders\n\nAssist in the development and implementation of financial controls and processes specific to freight and logistics, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements\n\nPrepare and lodge assigned Australian tax and regulatory returns, including:\nBusiness Activity Statements (BAS)\n\nPayroll Tax\n\nSuperannuation\n\nFringe Benefits Tax (FBT)\n\nOther applicable regulatory and compliance documents\n\nPrepare and lodge Duties and Excise returns, including weekly releases and drawbacks when required.\n\nMaintain awareness of changes in accounting standards, taxation regulations, and compliance requirements.\n\nConduct regular reviews and audits of financial data to identify and correct errors or discrepancies.\n\nAssist in implementing and improving accounting procedures, financial controls, and reporting processes.\n\nProvide supporting documentation and financial information during internal and external audits.\n\nCollaborate with other departments to gather financial information and ensure data accuracy.\n\nPerform ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting as required.\n\nRequirements\nJob Requirements\nBachelor's degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field\n\nPrevious professional experience as an Assistant Accountant or in a similar accounting role.\n\nSolid understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and general ledger processes.\n\nExperience with financial reconciliations, journal entries, and accounting records.\n\nProficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.\n\nFamiliarity with taxation regulations and financial reporting requirements.\n\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent attention to detail.\n\nStrong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.\n\nExcellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.\n\nAbility to work independently and collaboratively with finance teams and other departments.\n\nComfortable managing multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.\n\nExperience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and/or Microsoft Dynamics NAV
