Responsible for analytical methods development and validation of test materials. \nEssential Duties and Responsibilities: \nMaintains a working knowledge of raw material control and/or finished product analysis. \nMay discuss procedural problems with customers and/or interplant personnel. \nPerforms daily raw material in-process bulk and/or finished product testing to support production. \nOperates analytical instrumentation: IR spectrophotometer, gas chromatograph and UV-visible spectrophotometer, HPLC, XRF and Karl Fischer. \nKeeps inventory on chemicals and apparatus and writes purchase orders for these materials. \nDevelops test methods for and performs new product assays. \nPerforms equipment installation/operational/performance qualification on lab equipment. \nKnowledge of USP requirements. \nQualifies/transforms products to test methods (completes documentation of such). \nMaintenance and calibration of equipment. \nContributes suggestions for improving laboratory methods and procedures. \nPerforms special project work with minimum supervision. \nParticipates in the analytical in-house education training program. \nAny other duties as assigned. \nMinimum Qualifications: \nBachelor’s degree in chemistry, biology, or a related field \nMinimum of three years of industry or relevant experience. \nKnowledge, Skills and Abilities: \nAbility to operate diverse analytical lab equipment. \nAnalytical procedure development, validation experience, and writing skills. \nEffective communication skills -
