This role operates and maintains boilers, wastewater treatment systems, water softening equipment, compressed air systems, HVAC equipment, and other facility-related systems while ensuring compliance with all applicable safety and regulatory requirements.\nIn addition to boiler operations, the Stationary Engineer performs preventive and corrective maintenance on facility equipment and building systems to support uninterrupted manufacturing operations and maintain a safe working environment.\nEssential Responsibilities and Duties\nBoiler and Utility Operations\nOperate, monitor, inspect, and maintain all power plant and utility equipment, including but not limited to:\nSteam boilers\nWastewater treatment systems\nWater softeners\nCompressed air systems\nCooling towers\nHigh-pressure water systems\nChemical treatment systems\nMonitor boiler makeup water, steam production, condensate return systems, gas pressure, air pressure, water chemistry, and all associated instrumentation and controls.\nTroubleshoot and diagnose utility system malfunctions and equipment failures.\nPerform startup, shutdown, and operational checks of utility systems and related support equipment.\nMaintain daily operating logs, performance records, regulatory documentation, and equipment readings.\nEnsure compliance with applicable environmental, safety, and operating regulations.\nFacility Maintenance\nPerform preventive maintenance, repairs, adjustments, lubrication, and inspections of facility and building systems.\nMaintain and repair HVAC equipment, plumbing systems, lighting systems, pumps, motors, piping, valves, and related infrastructure.\nPerform basic electrical, mechanical, and building maintenance as qualified.\nTroubleshoot facility-related equipment issues and implement corrective actions.\nSupport facility improvement projects and equipment installations.\nCoordinate with contractors and vendors performing maintenance and repair work.\nMaintain facility equipment in compliance with company safety standards and applicable codes.\nPreventive Maintenance\nComplete scheduled preventive maintenance activities through the CMMS/maintenance scheduling system.\nInspect equipment and identify opportunities to improve reliability and efficiency.\nMaintain inventory of lubricants, chemicals, replacement parts, and maintenance supplies.\nReport shortages and assist with procurement efforts to ensure equipment uptime.\nGeneral Duties\nSupport full facility startups and shutdowns, including utility systems and facility infrastructure.\nMaintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.\nParticipate in safety programs, inspections, and continuous improvement initiatives.\nWork any assigned shift and overtime as required.\nPerform other duties and special projects as assigned.\nQualifications\nRequired\nHigh School Diploma or GED.\nValid City of Los Angeles Steam Engineer's License (Boilers License).\nMinimum 5 years of experience operating and maintaining industrial boilers and utility systems.\nExperience performing industrial facility maintenance in a manufacturing environment.\nWorking knowledge of steam generation, water treatment, HVAC, compressed air systems, pumps, motors, and mechanical equipment.\nAbility to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, operating manuals, and technical documents.\nStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.\nPreferred\nTrade school, technical certification, or vocational training in mechanical, electrical, HVAC, or stationary engineering disciplines.\nExperience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).\nKnowledge of wastewater treatment systems and environmental compliance requirements.\nPhysical Requirements\nAbility to lift up to 50 pounds.\nAbility to stand, walk, climb, bend, kneel, and work for extended periods.\nAbility to work on ladders, platforms, scaffolds, rooftops, and in confined spaces as required.\nAbility to work around moving mechanical equipment and utility systems.\nAbility to wear required personal protective equipment.\nWork Environment\nManufacturing and process production environment.\nExposure to mechanical equipment, steam systems, heat, noise, chemicals, and wastewater treatment processes.\nFrequent interaction with forklifts, contractors, maintenance personnel, and production employees.\nMay be required to work weekends, holidays, and emergency
