This role involves owning the network fabric that underpins our backup infrastructure. From the physical and virtual topology inside our data centers to the edge and connectivity that carries billions of objects over foreign APIs and imperfect networks. You will define how traffic flows, how it stays reliable under load, and how it stays secure end to end. Technical ownership, a systematic approach to reliability, and strong initiative are essential for this role.\nYou will:\nOwn and evolve our network architecture - data-center fabric, routing (BGP/OSPF), and segmentation.\n\nDesign and operate load balancing, ingress, and traffic-management for a platform moving data at scale\n\nDefine and enforce network reliability standards, runbooks, and change-management practices\n\nBuild network automation and observability - treat the network as code, with visibility into every hop\n\nManage VPN connectivity for management purposes to remote regions.\n\nCollaborate with SRE, Development, Operations and Security to identify and resolve bottlenecks and issues before they become incidents\n\nChampion automation - if something is done twice, it should be scripted the third time\n\nAbout you\nMust-haves:\n5+ years in a Network Engineering, Network Reliability, or Infrastructure Engineering role\n\nStrong hands-on experience with routing and switching at scale (BGP, OSPF, VLANs, VXLAN/EVPN)\n\nSolid Linux networking fundamentals - the kernel network stack, iptables/nftables, tc, and comfort working close to the metal\n\nExperience with load balancing and reverse proxies (Nginx, HAProxy, or equivalent)\n\nProactive mindset - you spot gaps before they become incidents\n\nClear communicator; you can translate network decisions for engineers who don’t live in a terminal\n\nNice-to-haves:\nNetwork automation experience (Ansible, Terraform, or vendor APIs) and infrastructure-as-code practices\n\nExperience with Kubernetes networking (CNI, service mesh, ingress controllers)\n\nFamiliarity with network observability and flow analysis (sFlow/NetFlow, eBPF-based tooling)\n\nBackground in DDoS mitigation, firewalling, or network security at the perimeter\n\nExperience operating networks across multiple data centers or hybrid cloud environments\n\nAbout us\nOur platform provides customers with an immutable, historical archive of their data in systems such as Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, Salesforce, Entra ID, Dynamics 365, and Zendesk.
