This position is responsible for achieving operational objectives by ensuring quality, efficient and safe production for all shifts and phases of the production process. This includes developing good manufacturing systems, establishing standard operating procedures and risk prevention programs, managing short and long-term process improvements and ensuring compliance with regulation/requirements. \nDuties and Responsibilities\nWork with leadership team to determine objectives and strategies for the operation; translate agreed strategies into team and individual goals, activities, and deliverables\nComplete production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel, establishing priorities, monitoring progress, revising schedules, managing and appraising performance, resolving problems, and reporting results on shift production summaries.\nAssist in interviewing and training new employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; addressing complaints and resolving problems.\nCoach and counsel crew members in safety, performance, attendance, training, housekeeping/5S, and quality to ensure understanding and compliance of company requirements\nDirectly manage team members to maximize productivity and efficiency\nEnsure accuracy of production reporting, including daily production, quality, hours, timesheets, etc.\nActively participate in accident/injury, including near misses, investigations and resolve any deficiencies, to include engineering controls, employee education, etc.\nIdentify continuous improvement opportunities for safety, quality and productivity, service and cost, while maintaining customer specifications using lean techniques (5S, TPM, Visual Management, 7 Wastes, Kaizen Events)\nCreate new and maintain all current Standard Operating Procedures and Job Safety Analysis for all job stations throughout the plant.\nCreate a culture of safety, quality, productivity, and cost ownership throughout the plant.\nPerform other related duties and assignments as required.\nRequired Skills and Competencies\nEffective Communication: strong verbal and written communications skills, including the ability to effectively communicate ideas, concepts, and procedures to all levels within the organization\nEstablishing High Standards and Getting Results: sets challenging but attainable goals for themselves and their department\nEncouraging Teamwork: establishes common objectives with joint accountability among the team members\nExhibit sound decision-making skills and judgement; provide solutions to complex issues\nSelf-motivated with a results-driven approach\nInspire and motivate others to perform well; build morale and group commitment to goals and objectives\nDemonstrate commitment to both customer service and quality; ability to de-escalate situations successfully\nAdvanced skills in MS Office\nThrive in a fast-paced environment and able to maintain quality\nBilingual - fluent in Spanish and English\nRequired Qualifications\nHigh school diploma\nBachelors degree in engineering is a plus\n2-3 years relevant work experience in a manufacturing environment\nProven experience as Production Supervisor or similar role\n2 years prior supervisory experience\nLean Six Sigma or similar training, OSHA Safety certification, Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM), and Certified Manufacturing Specialist (CMS) is a plus\nWorking Conditions / Physical Requirements\nThis position is in a production / manufacturing work environment.\nThe employee may be exposed to high noise level, manufacturing/electrical equipment, pressurized equipment, moving objects, hazardous materials, fumes/odors, dirt/dust, and warm/cold temperatures.\nPersonal protective equipment is required when on the production floor to include: steel toe boots, hearing protection and eye protection.
