The ideal candidate is a proactive leader who can efficiently manage multiple projects while maintaining high standards for safety, quality, and customer satisfaction. Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead the overall execution of commercial mechanical construction projects, ensuring successful delivery from kickoff to closeout.
  • Develop project schedules, resource plans, manpower forecasts, and execution strategies to achieve project goals.
  • Track budgets, labor costs, productivity metrics, and financial performance to maintain profitability.
  • Coordinate the procurement of materials, equipment, and subcontracted services required for project execution.
  • Maintain regular communication with clients, consultants, vendors, and trade partners throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with field leadership, operations teams, estimators, and support staff to align project objectives.
  • Conduct project status meetings and provide updates regarding schedules, financial performance, risks, and milestones.
  • Review plans, specifications, contracts, and construction documents to ensure project requirements are clearly understood.
  • Manage project administration including change orders, RFIs, submittals, purchase requests, and contract documentation.
  • Identify challenges affecting project performance and implement solutions to minimize delays and cost impacts.
  • Monitor subcontractor and supplier performance to ensure contractual obligations and quality expectations are met.
  • Support the development of team members through mentorship, communication, and leadership.
  • Promote safe work practices and ensure adherence to company safety standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee startup activities, project commissioning, closeout documentation, and final customer handoff.
  • Build strong client partnerships that contribute to repeat business and long-term customer retention.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and other operational projects as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • At least three years of project management experience within commercial mechanical construction, HVAC, piping, or related trades.
  • Proven success managing project schedules, budgets, customer expectations, and construction deliverables.
  • Working knowledge of construction contracts, project controls, and industry-standard project management practices.
  • Ability to successfully manage multiple active projects while balancing competing priorities.
  • Experience coordinating labor resources, subcontractors, vendors, and customers.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to professionally interact with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated analytical, organizational, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints, specifications, and technical construction documents.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products and project management platforms.
  • Strong attention to detail and effective time-management skills.

Preferred Experience Candidates with experience in any of the following areas are encouraged to apply:

  • Commercial mechanical system installations and renovations.
  • Hydronic piping, process piping, or plumbing systems.
  • Sheet metal systems and air distribution projects.
  • Building automation, controls integration, or energy management systems.
  • Equipment replacement projects, startup coordination, and commissioning activities.
  • Design-build or negotiated project delivery environments.
  • Healthcare, education, industrial, municipal, or large-scale commercial facilities.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, Business, or a closely related discipline preferred.
  • Equivalent industry experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
  • Minimum of three years managing construction or mechanical projects in a commercial setting.
  • Experience with tenant improvements, facility upgrades, renovations, or new construction projects is beneficial.
  • Knowledge of forecasting, budget management, contract administration, and client relationship management.
  • OSHA 30 certification preferred.
