Work with both IT and Application/Development teams to define their architecture roadmap, solution architecture, detailed design, and hands-on engineering and development.\nPosition Summary\nResponsibilities may also include vendor relationship management, product evaluations, strategic platform planning, and ensuring alignment with overall DevOps and Cloud strategy. The IT Architect is a technical individual contributor responsible for designing and overseeing the implementation of technical solutions within a specific domain or technology area. This role focuses on ensuring technical designs align with established architectural principles, standards, and roadmaps, while also meeting business requirements. The IT Architect acts as a subject matter expert in their assigned area, providing technical guidance and mentorship to development / engineering teams.\nPosition Responsibilities\nCollaborate with business analysts, development and / or engineering teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical specifications and architectural designs. \nDesign and develop robust, scalable, and secure technical solutions for specific applications, systems, or technology platforms. \nEnsure adherence to architectural standards, patterns, and best practices across assigned projects. \nParticipate in the evaluation and selection of new technologies and tools within their domain. \nProvide technical guidance and support to development teams throughout the software development lifecycle. \nConduct design reviews and code walkthroughs to ensure architectural compliance and code quality. \nIdentify and mitigate technical risks related to solution design and implementation. \nDocument architectural designs, technical specifications, and system diagrams. \nStay current with emerging technologies and industry trends within their area of expertise. \nPosition Qualifications:\n5 years of progressively more responsible work experience in a technical discipline.\nExperience with Amazon Web Services, Cloud migration, DevOps, Kubernetes, Infrastructure as Code, Organizational Change Management, and focus on business outcomes are desirable.\nCloud/Infrastructure performance analysis and tuning experience.\nProven experience designing and implementing complex technical solutions within a specific domain (e.g., application, data, infrastructure, security). \nProficiency in at least one major programming language and related frameworks. \nExperience with agile development methodologies. \nMust have strong presentation, verbal, and written skills.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills. \nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field\nThis position works at the Kemper office.\nThe range for this position is $79500 to $132900. When determining candidate offers, we consider experience, skills, education, certifications and geographics location among other factors.
