Independently evaluates risks and controls, applies data analytics to enhance audit coverage and insights, and identifies opportunities for improvement and risk mitigation. Mentors less experienced staff and collaborates with stakeholders across multiple business areas. Demonstrates increased independence, sound judgment, analytical thinking, and a deepening understanding of audit methodology, data analytics, and business operations.\nPosition Responsibilities:\nIndependently performs and leads segments of assurance and advisory engagements, including risk assessment, process and control evaluation, testing, documentation, and development of conclusions supported by sufficient and appropriate evidence.\nApplies data analytics throughout the audit lifecycle to enhance risk assessment, testing, and audit insights; uses SQL and/or other relevant analytical tools or languages to extract, manipulate, and analyze data and identify trends, anomalies, exceptions, and potential control issues.\nEvaluates risks, controls, business processes, and data quality; identifies control gaps, root causes, and opportunities for improvement and develops practical recommendations that address underlying risks.\nClearly communicates audit and analytical approaches, results, observations, and recommendations to audit team members and business stakeholders, translating complex data and technical concepts into meaningful business and risk insights.\nCollaborates with stakeholders to understand business operations, systems, data, and emerging risks; monitors remediation efforts and validates the resolution of audit issues.\nReviews work and provides guidance to less experienced team members, maintains documentation in accordance with Internal Audit methodology and professional standards, and identifies opportunities to improve audit effectiveness and efficiency through analytics, automation, and technology.\nPosition Requirements:\nBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, Business Administration, or similar field.\nAt least 2 years of experience, preferably in audit, risk management, or related field.\nDemonstrated experience using SQL and/or another relevant programming, querying, or data analytics language to extract, manipulate, analyze, and interpret data.\nOne or more of the following preferred or actively pursuing: CPA, CIA, CISA, CFE, CFA.\nAbility to travel up to 20% of the time. \n\nPreferred Skills:\nUnderstanding of audit procedures and internal control frameworks.\nAnalytical and critical thinking skills, with keen attention to detail.\nStrong communication skills, including report writing and stakeholder engagement.\nExperience with SQL or another coding language such as Python.\nExperience with automation or visualization technologies such as Power BI, Tableau or Alteryx.\nExperience within the insurance or broader financial services industry.\nProficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); experience with audit management software and data analytics tools is a plus.\nAdditional Information:\nSponsorship is not accepted for this opporutnity.\nThe range for this position is $61,900 to $102,900. When determining candidate offers, we consider experience, skills, education, certifications, and geographic location among other factors.
