Kemper has a proventrack recordfor developing its people for higher roles within the department as well as other functions and across its operating entities. Weseekan analytical and detail-oriented professional toassistwith a wide range of monthly,quarterlyand annual P&C accounting functions associated with Kemper’s financial reporting.\nPosition Responsibilities:\nPrepare and review monthly journal entries\n\nPrepare and/or review monthly account reconciliations\n\nConsolidatecompany operating information for internal and external financial reporting\n\nWork with internal and external auditors and provide necessary support\n\nPrepare analytical schedules, analyze variances, and provide support for internal requests\n\nActivelyidentify, lead, manage, and complete process improvement projects\n\nPrepare quarterly and annual financial statements\n\nPrepare and/or review quarterly statutory-basis financial statements\n\nAdditionalresponsibilities, asassigned\n\nPosition Requirements:\nBA/BS degree inAccounting\n\n3-5 years of industry or public accounting experience.\n\nCPA or CPA candidate preferred\n\nFamiliarity with US GAAP, familiarity with statutory accounting principles is a plus\n\nExperience navigating a large ERP environment\n\nProficiencyin MS Office products - intermediate to advanced knowledge of MS Excel\n\nExperience in Workday and Blackline a strong plus\n\nAbility toidentify,analyzeand solve accounting issues.\n\nEffective writing skills and strong attention to detailrequired.\n\nStrong analytical, organizational, and time management skills.\n\nProgressive thinking skills,a strongwork ethic, and a knack for innovative solutions.\n\nExcellent communication skills to interact with varying levels of management and professional staff.\n\nThe range for this position is $70,000 to $117,000.
