The position will work closely with the client’s engineering organization, project management team, engineering contractors, construction teams, vendors, and other engineering disciplines to ensure that civil/structural engineering activities are safely, efficiently, and successfully executed.\nThe successful candidate will have strong experience in industrial civil and structural engineering, with demonstrated capability in engineering design, technical review, project coordination, and construction support. The position requires a proactive engineer who can work effectively in a client-facing environment, identify and resolve technical issues, and provide sound engineering judgment.\nThis position will serve as a key technical interface between the client and engineering/design organizations and will help ensure that project requirements, engineering standards, codes, quality requirements, schedule, and constructability considerations are properly addressed.\nThis position will be full based in our clients's office (minimum 4 days/week).\n\nSkills and Responsibilities: \n\nResponsibilities:\nServe as the Senior Civil/Structural Engineer supporting LNG, Oil & Gas, and industrial facility projects.\nProvide technical leadership and engineering support for civil and structural engineering activities throughout all phases of a project for feasibility study to detailed design, procurement, construction, and commissioning phases as required.\nCoordinate civil/structural engineering activities with engineering contractors, project management, construction, and other disciplines.\nReview and provide technical oversight of civil/structural engineering deliverables, including calculations, drawings, specifications, design criteria, reports, and studies.\nProvide engineering guidance for foundations, concrete structures, steel structures, equipment foundations, pipe racks, platforms, buildings, paving, roads, drainage, site development, and other industrial facilities.\nReview engineering contractor designs for compliance with project requirements, applicable codes, standards, specifications, and client design criteria.\nCoordinate civil/structural interfaces with process, mechanical, piping, electrical, instrumentation, and other disciplines.\nReview design changes and provide technical recommendations regarding constructability, cost, schedule, and project requirements.\nIdentify potential engineering issues, conflicts, and risks; work proactively with project teams to develop practical solutions.\nParticipate in design reviews, model reviews, constructability reviews, HAZOP/HAZID-related activities, and other project technical reviews as required.\nMonitor engineering progress and support the project team in achieving engineering milestones and schedule commitments.\nReview engineering contractor and vendor documents and provide technical comments and recommendations.\nSupport preparation of request for proposals (RFP), development and review of civil/structural engineering scopes of work, engineering estimates, schedules, and execution plans, technical bid evaluations, vendor document reviews, and technical clarification responses.\nProvide construction support, including reviewing RFIs, reviewing field issues, evaluating proposed changes.\nParticipate and lead site visits and field inspections to verify existing conditions and support resolution of civil/structural construction issues.\nCoordinate with field engineering and construction personnel to ensure that design requirements are properly implemented in the field.\nEnsure engineering deliverables meet applicable QA/QC requirements and procedures.\nMaintain awareness of applicable engineering codes, standards, regulations, and industry best practices.\nRecommend improvements to engineering standards, design practices, specifications, and work processes to improve quality, safety, constructability, and cost effectiveness.\nServe as a technical representative of the company in meetings and engineering coordination meetings.\nEnsure all engineering activities are performed with appropriate consideration of safety, quality, schedule, cost, and constructability.\nPerform other duties as assigned.\n\nIn addition to the responsibilities listed herein, the employee may be required to perform other ad-hoc tasks as needed or directed by the supervisor or management. These tasks will be within the reasonable scope of the employee's skills, capabilities, and role within the organization. The intent of this provision is to allow for flexibility and adaptability in meeting the dynamic needs of the organization, ensuring that operational requirements can be met efficiently. All such tasks will be assigned considering the employee's current workload and with respect to their professional development.\n\nYour knowledge/skills, education, and experience: \n\nKnowledge/ Qualification/ Training/ Certification: \nBachelor’s degree in Civil Structural Engineering, or a closely related engineering discipline is required. Master’s degree is a plus.\nMinimum 10 years of relevant civil/structural engineering experience, preferably within LNG, Oil & Gas, petrochemical, chemical, refining, or other large industrial EPC projects.\nDemonstrated experience working on major industrial projects in a Senior Engineer, Lead Engineer, or Discipline Lead capacity.\nStrong knowledge and experience in the design and review of:Structural steel\nReinforced concrete structures\nEquipment foundations\nPipe rack structures\nPlatforms and access structures\nBuildings and industrial facilities\nSite civil and grading\nRoads and paving\nStormwater drainage\nUnderground utilities and related civil infrastructure\n\nStrong understanding of structural analysis and design principles for industrial facilities.\nStrong knowledge of applicable engineering codes and standards, including ACI, AISC, ASCE, IBC, PIP, and other applicable industry standards.\nExperience reviewing engineering calculations, drawings, specifications, design criteria, and technical reports.\nExperience with structural analysis/design software such as STAAD Pro, SAP2000, RISA 3D, or equivalent.\nWorking knowledge of AutoCAD and 3D engineering/modelling systems.\nExperience with engineering design reviews and 3D model coordination is preferred.\nExperience supporting construction and field engineering activities on industrial projects is highly desirable.\nProfessional Engineer (P.E.) license is required with State Board of Texas or the ability to obtain Texas licensure by comity.\nStrong understanding of engineering quality requirements and QA/QC processes.\n\nCommunication:\nExcellent command of the English language in both oral and written communication and skills.\nSecond language desired but not required.
