As a Project Financial Control Analyst, you’ll support the financial health and success of government contracting projects by helping monitor budgets, forecasts, funding, costs, and profitability. Working closely with Finance, Project Management, Contracts, and Accounting teams, you’ll prepare financial reports, support customer billing and deliverables, track subcontractor expenses, and help identify potential funding or cost concerns. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented, analytical professional who enjoys working with financial data, collaborating across teams, and ensuring accurate financial reporting and project performance.\nLocation: Remote -This position can be performed remotely within the United States and will support Eastern Time working hours.\nCompensation Range: The anticipated base salary range for this position is $85,000–$95,000 annually and reflects Kentro’s good-faith expectations at the time of posting. Final compensation is determined based on the role’s requirements, relevant skills, experience, education, certifications, work location, applicable security clearance requirements, market conditions, internal equity, and contract requirements.\nThis Job Description reflects the primary duties of the role; however, it is not intended to be all‑inclusive. Team members may be asked to take on additional responsibilities in alignment with customer expectations, business needs, and Kentro’s culture of collaboration and adaptability.\n\nResponsibilities\n\nAssist with maintaining project and business unit-level financial forecasts, including revenue, cost, and margin information, under the direction of the Senior Project Financial Control Analyst and Finance Manager.\n\nSupport project financial planning and budgeting activities by collecting financial information and assisting with timely updates and submissions.\n\nPrepare and organize billing support documentation, including travel receipts, expense information, and other supporting documentation required for customer invoicing.\n\nAssist with timecard reviews and adjustments, including identifying incorrect or missing charge codes and coordinating corrections with employees and project management.\n\nPrepare routine financial reports, spreadsheets, and dashboards for review by the Senior Project Financial Control Analyst and Finance Manager.\n\nAssist with preparation of required customer deliverable reporting.\n\nAssist with monitoring cost, profitability, and schedule variances and identifying items requiring additional review or follow-up.\n\nAssist with identifying and tracking program opportunities, risks, funding requirements, and other financial items.\n\nAssist with reviewing funding requirements for purchase requisitions on direct contracts and escalate questions or discrepancies to the appropriate Finance or Project Controls team member.\n\nTrack subcontractor costs, funding, invoices, material receipts, and open commitments and assist with maintaining accurate subcontractor financial records.\n\nAssist with project set-up and maintenance of contracts in the accounting system (Unanet ERP), including charge code authorizations, subcontractor account setup and other project-related financial data.\n\nAssist with project funding and funds runout analysis, monitoring remaining contract funding against actual and projected expenditures and escalating potential funding concerns.\n\nPrepare reports of travel expense estimates in accordance with the FAR and Federal Travel Regulations (FTR) for invoicing pre-approval to government clients.\n\nInteract with Contracts, Pricing, Accounting, Project Managers, and Finance leadership to obtain information, resolve routine project financial issues, and support project financial activities.\n\nMaintain accurate project financial records, trackers, and supporting documentation in accordance with company policies and applicable contract requirements.\n\nPerform other administrative and financial analysis activities as assigned in support of the Senior Project Financial Control Analyst and Finance Manager.\n\nQualifications\n\nEducation: BS degree in finance, business, or a related field \n\nExperience: 2 or more years of experience managing program/project financials on federal contracts\n\nTechnical Skills: Strong Excel skills\n\n Preferred Qualifications: \n\nManaging financials for T&M, FFP, and cost-plus engagements\n\nExperience with contracts that have multiple CLINs and revenue types\n\nOrganized, detail-oriented, motivated, and able to multitask and take direction in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment\n\nIndependent problem-solving and decision-making abilities\n\nClearance Requirement:\nUS Citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident (Green Card)\n\nWilling and able to obtain and maintain Public Trust Clearance or higher\n\nBenefits\n\nThe CompanyWe believe in generating success collaboratively, enabling long-term mission success, and building trust for the next challenge.
