For more information, click here.\nRole reports to:\nManager Baby Care R and DLocation:\nNorth America, United States, New Jersey, SummitWork Location:\nHybridWhat you will do\nThe Product Development Senior Scientist will be responsible for formulating new baby products in line with brand strategies, conducting Design of Experiments and stability analyses, and providing technical support throughout the product lifecycle. Key duties include identifying and addressing project challenges, analyzing market trends for product differentiation, defining process parameters in collaboration with manufacturing, and participating in cross-functional teams for product execution. The role also involves planning and prioritizing multiple projects, maintaining organized documentation, drafting technical reports, and ensuring compliance with quality and regulatory standards.\nKey Responsibilities:\nFormulate new products that align with the Baby brand strategy and pipeline with supervisor oversight.\nConduct Design of Experiments, laboratory activities and analysis with hands-on involvement.\nProvide technical support for product lifecycle management, including post-commercialization support and troubleshooting technical issues .\nProactively identify project obstacles and technical risks, evaluating potential solutions to minimize impact through data-driven decision-making.\nAnalyze and translate key trends into insights, understanding the competitive landscape to enhance product uniqueness and differentiation.\nDefine critical process parameters and collaborate with manufacturing sites to establish process controls.\nParticipate in cross-functional regional and/or global project teams to execute new products.\nPlan and prioritize multiple projects and tasks to meet deliverables, monitor ongoing activities and updating stakeholders.\nMaintain accurate and organized records of project documents, data, and materials.\nManage routine organizational processes and complexity.\nDraft and complete technical documents, including peer-reviewed manuscripts, development summary reports, specifications, and patent filings.\nIndependently lead assigned projects and technical workstreams, taking ownership of key deliverables, proactively communicating project progress, risks, mitigation plans, and recommendations to stakeholders to ensure alignment and successful execution.\nProvide technical coaching and mentorship to junior scientists, fostering capability development and sharing best practices across the organization.\nLead complex product development programs with a high degree of independence, providing technical leadership, influencing cross-functional decision-making, proactively managing risks, and driving delivery of key business objectives.\nAdhere to established standards and processes (e.g., GDP, GLP) to ensure compliance with quality, safety, and regulatory requirements.\nWhat We Are Looking For\nRequired Qualifications\nEducation:\nA minimum of a Bachelor's degree in a relevant subject area (Science, Engineering, Pharmacy with pharmaceutical or consumer (cosmetics, OTC) experience) with at least 5 years of related industry experience, a Master's degree with 3-5 years related experience, or a PhD in a relevant subject area is required.\nA degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Pharmacy, Material Science or other science or engineering discipline is preferred.\nExperience and Skills:\nRelated experience (academic or industry):5+ years of experience with a Bachelor’s degree\n3+ years of experience with a Master’s or PhD degree\n\nStrong organizational and interpersonal skills and ability to work in a matrixed environment, successfully partnering with multidisciplinary teams is required\nA proven ability to translate scientific insights to meaningful consumer and health care professional communications is preferred\nAbility to handle routine processes and complexity, risk taking and decision making\nDetail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple tasks\nTechnical writing skills that facilitate the creation of documents that are complete & accurate\nAbility to work cross-functionally in a team environment while being an individual contributor is required\nMS Office (Word and Excel) proficiency, excellent oral and written communication skills are required\nEffective presentations skills that are used to communicate clearly & informatively \nDesired Qualifications\nExperience with consumer products, such as skin care, emulsions, cleansers, hair care, oral care, baby care and/or deodorant products\nGood technical foundation of formulated products including emulsions, surfactants, suspensions, structured liquids and an understanding of material chemistry\nExperience collaborating with external partners (manufacturing vendors), suppliers, and technical project management\nFamiliarity with cGMP and other regulatory requirements\nEffective presentations skills that are used to communicate clearly & informatively\nWhat’s in it for you\nAnnual base salary for new hires in this position ranges:\n$105,400.00 - $148,800.00This takes into account a number of factors including work location, the candidate’s skills, experience, education level & other job-related factors.\nCompetitive Benefit Package*\n\nPaid Company Holidays, Paid Vacation, Volunteer Time & More!\n\nLearning & Development Opportunities\n\nKenvuer Impact Networks\n\nThis list could vary based on location/region\n\n*Note: Total Rewards at Kenvue include salary, bonus (if applicable) and benefits.
