Contract role in Nairobi.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nManagerial / Supervisory Responsibilities\n\nSpearhead development, review and implementation of policies, plans and strategies in the functional areas of Human Resource Management, Insurance, Administration and ICT.\n\nProvide leadership in development and implementation of effective Human resources strategies, plans and policies for long term development of the Organization.\n\nSteer in alignment the Human resource strategy to the business strategy and providing advisory role to the business.\n\nLead the development and maintenance of a cohesive and flexible performance-based culture that will deliver on the organization’s objective.\n\nProvide leadership in talent management, to attract, nurture and retain talent.\n\nProvide leadership in management and monitoring of Employee relations, welfare and occupational health and safety policies to build a conducive work environment.\n\nSpearhead designing and development or organizational structure and business processes that will enhance efficiency.\n\nProvide guidance in developing robust succession & leadership development programs for organizational readiness for growth and supply a talent pool.\n\n Spearhead in development of strategies to drive innovation, including automation of processes in line with the overall strategic plan of the Corporation.\n\nLead in development relevant mechanisms to entrench innovation with respect to the Departments’ operations and processes.\n\nFoster a culture that rewards performance and encourages teamwork, commitment and self-motivation.\n\nOversee efficient delivery of technology-related services.\n\nProvide leadership-Managing the organization’s reward and benefits to ensure reward systems are in place to deliver competitiveness and cost effectiveness.\n\nAdvise management on appropriate Corporate Services Management practices to achieve the corporate objectives.\n\nGuide in development of manpower strategies to support current and future business needs.\n\nGuide in developing strategies to enhance employee engagement and productivity within the workforce.\n\nSteer in development of strategies on property management, cleaning services, garbage collection and pest control in Corporation premises.\n\nSpearhead development of strategies and initiatives to ensure the Corporation interests are adequately covered through insurance to minimize exposure to losses.\n\nSpearhead the development, implementation and review of Department’s annual Work Plans and budgets and Procurement and Assets Disposal plans in line with the Corporation’s performance targets and strategic plan;\n\nSpearhead the development and implementation and review of corruption prevention and mitigation strategies in the Department;\n\nProvide strategic leadership in execution of risk management policy and strategies that ensure the Department has a robust system and processes of accountability, risk management, internal controls, business continuity and succession management;\n\nProvide strategic leadership to ensure continuous improvement of business processes and controls in the department and develop mechanisms for corporate consultations, increase public participation and involvement in Corporation’s policies and programs\n\nLead in implementation of a robust performance management system within the Department through providing oversight of the delivery of the Annual performance contract and strategic plan;\n\nSpearhead the implementation of principles of Corporate Governance, relevant national policies, guidelines, and directives within the Department;\n\nFoster a corporate culture that promotes ethical practices and good citizenship within the Department; and\n\nProvide strategic leadership in supervision, coaching, Mentoring, training and development of the Departmental staff to ensure an effective and motived team. Further, nurture the staff to work collaboratively \n\nOperational Responsibilities / Tasks\n\nManage the day to day administrative and operational functions of the department in compliance with regulatory and statutory requirements;\n\nCoordinate staff performance management, training and development.\n\nManage the Corporation’s rewards and sanctions.\n\nAdvise an appropriate organizational structures, business processes and change management strategies to maximize organizational effectiveness\n\nOversee fleet management activities within the Corporation\n\nCoordinate implementation of the Corporation Culture Change Strategy.\n\nOversee management of the Corporation’s assets.\n\nLiaise with all divisional Heads, continuously analyse business across all departments to determine improvement areas with technology adoption and innovation\n\nProvide overall Department administrative support services in the Corporation.\n\nCoordinate insurance services for Corporation assets and Business operations.\n\nOversee the preparation of board papers in respect to the corporate service Department\n\nCoordinate implementation of Department’s annual work plan, procurement plan and budget.\n\nProvide Monthly, Quarterly Reports to help Management make sound decisions.\n\nPerformance management/appraisal of direct reports\n\nFinancial Responsibilities\n\nApproval of the Department’s budget and expenditure.\n\nApproval of Department’s annual procurement and assets disposal plan.\n\nAccounts for resources within the department\n\nDepartment’s Resource mobilization.\n\nRequirements of the Position\n\nMaster’s degree in a relevant field from a reputable institution.\n\nBachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: Commerce, Business Administration, Public Administration, Human Resource Management, ICT, Social Sciences or an equivalent qualification from a recognized Institution.\n\nRelevant professional qualification and membership to a relevant professional body.\n\nCertificate in Strategic Leadership Course lasting not less than four (4) weeks\n\nValid practicing Certificate\n\nWorking experience of not less than fifteen (15) years, five (5) of which must have been in a senior management position in a State Corporation or in a comparable organization in the Public Service or private sector\n\nFunctional
