A career with Kerry offers you an opportunity to shape the future of food while providing you opportunities to explore and grow in a truly global environment.\nAbout the role\nWork Location: Juru, Simpat Ampat, Penang\nReporting Line: EHS Manager & Warehouse Manager\nWorking Hours: 8.30am - 5.30pm\nThe EHS Officer is responsible for ensuring compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations, Kerry standards, and customer requirements. The role supports warehouse operations through hazard identification, risk assessment, audit management, incident prevention, safety training, compliance monitoring, and the implementation of EHS programs to maintain a safe and sustainable workplace.\nKey responsibilities\nRecognize and control occupational hazards and environmental impacts, while interfacing with employees and management. Rectify EHS issues on a day-to-day basis, attend daily operational meetings, and take immediate action on EHS issues.\nSupport and guide the EHS Committee in its daily and monthly activities and inspections.\nEnsure compliance with relevant authorities by developing and implementing EHS programs, policies, and management systems.\nEnsure HE/HP (KIRMS), RSA findings, and ISO 45001 & ISO 14001 findings are rectified, closed, and effective.\nGuide and promote safe work practices and act as an internal reference by providing necessary training programs to increase safety awareness and knowledge among all employees.\nEnsure all EHS programs are implemented accordingly.\nEnsure Storage & Racking standards are compliant and that system effectiveness is audited annually. This includes a formal inspection by a technically competent person.\nCommunicate EHS information to the organization as appropriate. Conduct safety induction training for new employees, contractors, and visitors.\nEvaluate and control workplace hazards by conducting risk assessments and environmental impact assessments.\nReport on monthly EHS KPIs, EHS monitoring, waste management, and Carbon Footprint.\nEnsure the maintenance of all safety equipment is kept up to date, including fire protection systems, emergency equipment, etc.\nInterpret standards, advise management on required actions, and enforce adherence to regulations, including OSHA 2022 (Amendment) and Kerry corporate standards (KIRMS Standard - HE/HPA).\nExecute the annual EHS Action Plan and evaluate its effectiveness.\nCoordinate EHS Committee meetings and activities as required by OSHA 2022.\nLiaise with relevant departments and related government bodies on EHS matters.\nLiaise with on-site contractors.\nPropose internal EHS purchases.\nQualifications and skills\nDiploma or Degree in Engineering, Environmental, Health & Safety, Chemistry, or equivalent.\nRegistered with DOSH as a competent Safety Coordinator or Safety & Health Officer.\nIn-depth knowledge of the Occupational Safety & Health Act (OSHA) 2022 (Amendment) Act.\nPreferably with knowledge & experience of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001.\nPossess proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.\n\nA minimum of 3 years’ experience in EHS within a multinational manufacturing industry.\nPossess strong organizational and technical skills, with a genuine passion for the work and the drive to get the job done.\nExperience with compliance audits and safety management systems.\nExcellent communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to effectively convey ideas and concepts and deliver formal presentations.\nBeware of scams online or from individuals claiming to represent us.
