This role ensures safe, efficient, and reliable operation of manufacturing equipment and facilities while driving continuous improvement initiatives that support productivity, quality, cost, and customer service goals.\nThe successful candidate will provide strategic and hands-on leadership to the maintenance team, manage engineering projects, improve asset reliability, and partner cross-functionally to optimize manufacturing performance.\nKey responsibilities\nKey Responsibilities\nSafety, Compliance & Food Safety\nChampion a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with all company, regulatory, environmental, and food safety requirements.\nDrive safe work practices, contractor safety management, and maintenance compliance programs.\nEnsure all engineering and maintenance activities meet applicable regulations and company standards.\nMaintenance & Reliability Leadership\nLead preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs to maximize equipment uptime and operational reliability.\nDevelop and execute maintenance strategies that reduce downtime, improve asset utilization, and extend equipment life.\nMonitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement actions to improve maintenance performance.\nLead root cause analysis and implement sustainable corrective actions for equipment and process failures.\nEngineering & Capital Projects\nLead site engineering initiatives, including equipment upgrades, automation projects, process improvements, and infrastructure enhancements.\nManage capital projects from concept development through installation, commissioning, and project closeout.\nCollaborate with corporate engineering, operations, quality, and finance teams to prioritize investments and improve manufacturing capabilities.\nSupport the design, specification, and implementation of new equipment and technologies.\nPeople Leadership & Talent Development\nLead, coach, develop, and engage maintenance and technical teams to achieve operational objectives.\nEstablish performance expectations and accountability while fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.\nIdentify technical skill gaps and develop training and succession plans.\nOperational Excellence & Continuous Improvement\nPartner with Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, and Production teams to improve plant performance and reduce operational losses.\nDrive continuous improvement initiatives utilizing Lean Manufacturing, TPM, reliability-centered maintenance, and problem-solving methodologies.\nIdentify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance equipment performance.\nBudget & Asset Management\nDevelop and manage maintenance budgets, capital expenditures, and operating costs.\nOversee spare parts inventory and optimize inventory levels to balance cost and equipment availability.\nEnsure effective planning and utilization of maintenance resources and external contractors.\nSystems & Documentation\nMaintain accurate maintenance records, engineering documentation, equipment histories, and regulatory compliance records.\nDrive effective use of CMMS systems to support work planning, asset management, and reporting.\nEnsure maintenance procedures and technical documentation remain current and standardized.\nQualifications and skills\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree in engineering, Engineering Technology, Industrial Maintenance, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience.\n5+ years of progressive leadership experience in maintenance, engineering, or manufacturing operations.\nExperience leading maintenance and reliability programs in a manufacturing environment.\nDemonstrated experience managing capital projects and equipment installations.\nStrong knowledge of mechanical, electrical (PLC), automation, and process systems.\nExperience leading teams, coaching employees, and driving accountability.\nStrong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.\nProficiency with CMMS systems and maintenance performance metrics.\nExcellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.\nPreferred Qualifications\nFood, beverage, ingredients, chemical, pharmaceutical, or consumer packaged goods manufacturing experience.\nBachelor’s degree in mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Chemical Engineering.\nExperience with PLCs, automation systems, process controls, and industrial networking.\nExperience with SAP PM or other enterprise maintenance management systems.\nLean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, TPM, or Reliability certifications.\nProject Management Professional (PMP) or comparable project management experience.\nThe pay range for this position is $102,000 - $168,250 in Annual Salary. Kerry typically does not hire an individual at the top or near the top of the range, as we are a pay-for-performance company, and this range is set to continue to reward performance annually while in role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The specific compensation offered to a candidate within the above range may be influenced by a variety of factors including skills, qualifications, experience, and internal equity. In addition, this position is also eligible to earn a performance-based incentive compensation.
