Join us in creating a workplace where safety is everyone's responsibility.\nAbout the role\nThe Multi-Skilled Engineer serves as the custodian of equipment and systems across the plant. This role identifies and resolves equipment-related issues, helping to reduce downtime and waste. Planned maintenance activities are carried out to maximise equipment performance and reliability, while opportunities for improvement are identified and implemented to enhance availability, quality, efficiency, and operational effectiveness. Maintaining and strengthening safety systems remains a key focus of the role at all times.\nWorking Pattern: This is a full-time, on-site position operating on a continental shift pattern of 3 days on, 3 days off.\nKey responsibilities\nPromote safe working practices and ensure compliance with health, safety, food safety, quality, and environmental standards.\nMaintain knowledge of Kerry policies and relevant legislative requirements.Participate in risk assessments, HACCP studies, and continuous improvement activities.\nTroubleshoot, repair, and maintain manufacturing equipment, utilities, and site services, including pneumatic, hydraulic, PLC, SCADA, refrigeration, compressed air, and steam systems.Identify faults, take appropriate action to restore equipment performance, and escalate issues where required.\nContribute to initiatives that reduce downtime, waste, and operating costs while improving reliability, efficiency, and quality.\nWork with suppliers, contractors, and internal teams on equipment installations, upgrades, modifications, and engineering projects.Provide technical expertise and practical guidance to engineers and apprentices.\nMaintain accurate maintenance records, documentation, drawings, programs, databases, and system updates within SAP PM/CMMS.\nComplete planned maintenance activities and scheduled work in line with agreed priorities.Work with planning and scheduling teams to ensure efficient execution of maintenance activities.\nParticipate in engineering, hygienic design, safety, environmental, and quality improvement reviews.\nQualifications and skills\nExperience in electrical, instrumentation and mechanical maintenance within a manufacturing or industrial environment.\nKnowledge of PLCs, automated systems, drives, low-voltage equipment, and instrumentation.\nAbility to diagnose and resolve electrical and mechanical faults safely and effectively.\nExperience carrying out planned and preventative maintenance activities.\nAbility to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.\nKnowledge of utilities systems such as steam, refrigeration, compressed air, air handling, or wastewater treatment is advantageous.\nFlexible, multi-skilled approach with a focus on continuous improvement.\nStrong organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills.\nFocus on health, safety, quality, and collaborative working practices.\nSuccess in This Role\nDelivering planned maintenance activities effectively and on schedule.\nContributing to equipment reliability and operational performance.\nIdentifying and implementing opportunities to improve safety, efficiency, and productivity.\nWorking effectively with colleagues across the site to achieve shared objectives.\nWhat we offer:\nMatched pension scheme\nAccess to our employee development platform and Udemy learning resources\nBenefits platform offering discounts and cashback at major retailers\nA collaborative and inclusive work environment with opportunities for career growth\nBeware of scams online or from individuals claiming to represent us.
