Join us in creating a workplace where safety is everyone's responsibility.\nAbout the role\nWe are looking for a skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our Engineering team in a fast-paced FMCG manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, calibrating, and improving instrumentation, electrical, and mechanical equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable plant operation.\nThe ideal candidate will have a strong instrumentation background combined with electrical multi-skilling, with experience working on process instrumentation, control systems, electrical equipment, and plant assets. You will be responsible for diagnosing faults, testing, repairing, calibrating, and maintaining instrumentation and electrical systems, while supporting the maintenance of mechanical equipment across the site.\nWorking as part of a continental shift team, you will play a key role in delivering planned and preventative maintenance, responding to equipment breakdowns, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives. You will work closely with production and engineering teams to maximise equipment performance, minimise downtime, and support operational excellence.\nThis position operates on a continental shift pattern with a staggered 2-day / 3-day rotation, providing 24/7 engineering support to the manufacturing operation.\nThe successful candidate will bring strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills, a proactive approach to maintenance, and a commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement. Experience in a manufacturing environment, particularly within FMCG or food production, together with the ability to work effectively in a dynamic production setting, will be essential for success in this role.\nKey responsibilities\nDemonstrate a Safety First, Quality Always mindset in all activities, completing dynamic risk assessments, risk assessments, and quality handback forms as required.\nPromote a strong safety culture through compliance with QSHE standards, Kerry policies, and engineering standards while embracing Kerry values.\nContribute to the development and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for repeatable maintenance activities.\nContribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the assigned area and work alongside cross-functional teams to enhance production performance.\nIdentify improvement opportunities and work with the maintenance function to implement effective solutions.\nWork effectively with production teams across all process areas, transferring technical knowledge through the asset care strategy.\nLiaise with OEMs and external suppliers to obtain technical assistance when required.\nEnsure plant issues are resolved efficiently and effectively to optimise plant throughput across production, process, and utility areas.\nApply plant knowledge and engineering expertise to prioritise maintenance activities, with breakdowns taking precedence over planned work when necessary.\nCarry out Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) activities in line with maintenance schedules.\nDiagnose faults, test, repair, calibrate, and maintain instrumentation, electrical, and mechanical equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient plant operation.\n\nObserve, identify, and report machinery or component defects, potential failures, and relevant SAP CMMS data.\nMaintain accurate engineering records and update systems in accordance with company procedures, including SAP, Change Control, and SCADA.\nIdentify and implement improvement opportunities in partnership with the maintenance function.\nContribute to the site's KAMS excellence journey.\nEscalate engineering issues through the Maintenance Supervisor or appropriate function.\nMaintain departmental 5S standards within workshops and stores.\nUndertake additional tasks, projects, or assignments as requested by the Maintenance Manager or Maintenance Supervisor.\nQualifications and skills\nElectrical, Instrumentation, or related Engineering Trade Qualification, Diploma, or Degree.\nThe ideal person would have strong instrumentation background with electrical multiskilling \nMinimum 3 years' experience in a manufacturing environment.\nStrong fault-finding, diagnostic, and troubleshooting skills across instrumentation, control, electrical, and mechanical systems.\n\nKnowledge of maintenance best practices and Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).\nProficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.\nStrong technical analysis and report-writing skills.\nAbility to interpret CAD drawings for electrical, mechanical, and facility-related applications.\nFluent in English and the local site language.\nExcellent organisational and prioritisation skills.\nStrong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to maintain accurate technical documentation and maintenance records.\nExperience within the food manufacturing or FMCG industry.\nCAD and programming knowledge.\nExperience working in a continuous improvement environment.\nKnowledge of asset care, reliability, and preventative maintenance methodologies.\nContribute to maintaining site downtime at or below target levels.\nSupport the reduction of engineering breakdown escalations.\nDrive continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to achieving site KAMS excellence targets.\nWhat we offer\n25 days annual leave (excluding bank holidays)\nMatched pension scheme\nAccess to our employee development platform and Udemy learning resources\nBenefits platform offering discounts and cashback at major retailers\nA collaborative and inclusive work environment with opportunities for career growth\nBeware of scams online or from individuals claiming to represent us.
