This role ensures that\nall raw materials received at the facility meet established specifications, regulatory requirements,\nand customer expectations prior to use in production. The Raw Material Technician performs\ndocumentation review, sampling coordination, disposition activities, and record maintenance to\nsupport positive release of raw materials while ensuring accurate communication and compliance\nwith quality systems.\nKey responsibilities\nResponsibilities:\nAdhere to all established Kerry LIFE Safety, Food Safety, GMP, HACCP, and processing\npolicies with an eye towards quality.\nMaintain and carry out all activities related to the inspection, testing, and positive\nrelease of incoming raw materials.\nReview incoming raw material documentation, including Certificates of Analysis (COAs),\nspecifications, and supplier paperwork, to verify compliance with requirements across\nmultiple sites.\nEnter raw material receipts, inspection results, clearances, and dispositions into\ndesignated systems accurately and in a timely manner.\nCoordinate raw material sampling, testing, and release activities in accordance with\nprocedures across multiple sites.\nMaintain detailed and accurate records of raw material lot numbers, supplier\ninformation, testing status, and disposition.\nVerify raw material identification, labeling, and status to ensure correct use and\ntraceability.\nCommunicate with suppliers, internal teams, and other Kerry sites regarding raw\nmaterial testing results, issues, dispositions, and release status as needed.\nWork closely with QA, procurement, warehouse, and production teams to ensure timely\navailability of approved raw materials.\nSupport raw material HOLDs and assist with investigations related to raw material\nquality or food safety concerns across multiple sites.\nClassified as General Business\nSupport audit preparation, customer complaint investigations, and related follow-up\nactivities by gathering documentation, providing raw material information, and assisting\nwith timely responses.\nMaintain awareness of customer, regulatory, and internal requirements related to raw\nmaterials.\nKeep detailed and accurate quality records related to raw material inspections, testing,\nand release.\nReport food safety or quality concerns related to raw materials to personnel with\nauthority to initiate corrective action.\nSupport maintenance and documentation compliance activities to help ensure\nregulatory certification requirements are maintained.\nAssist the Quality Supervisor and Raw Material Specialist with special tasks or projects\nrelated to raw material quality, organization, or documentation.\nSupport adherence to HACCP, allergen, environmental, regulatory, and customer\nrequirements.\nAdhere to all quality system requirements and established procedures.\nMaintain a positive and professional attitude while interacting with production and\nsupport teams.\nAny other duties as assigned by Quality Leadership.\nQualifications and skills\nRequired Qualifications:\nHigh school diploma or equivalent.\nFamiliarity with current GMPs, HACCP, and allergen awareness.\nComputer literacy.\nStrong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.\nAbility to work independently and in interdepartmental teams.\nGood organizational skills and attention to detail.\nPCQI Certified\nPreferred Qualifications:\nCollege degree in a relevant field.\n1-2 years of experience in food production or a food quality lab setting.\nProficiency in Microsoft Office, and SAP.\nWorking Conditions & Physical Requirements:\nWork is performed in both office and laboratory settings within a dry blend food\nmanufacturing facility located in Sturtevant, WI.\nMay be required to travel to nearby Kerry sites to support raw material testing activities\nas needed.\nExposure to a hygienic production environment with airborne food-grade powders;\nappropriate PPE is required, including safety glasses, lab coats, gloves, hairnets, beard\nnets, hard hats, and steel-toed shoes.\nRegular physical activities include use of hands, sitting, standing, walking, reaching, and\noccasional stooping or kneeling.\nAbility to lift up to 50 pounds and climb stairs as needed.\nClassified as General Business\nVision requirements include close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.\nAbility to hear and communicate verbally in a production and lab environment.\nAdditional Information:\nThis job description provides a representative summary of the types of duties and\nresponsibilities required for this job. Kerry typically does not hire an individual at the top or near the top of the range, as we are a pay-for-performance company, and this range is set to continue to reward performance annually while in role.
