About the role

We are looking for an experienced and highly technical Principal Scientist to lead innovation, product development, and customer-facing initiatives within our Alcoholic Beverages portfolio. This role will serve as a key technical expert, partnering with strategic customers and cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions that drive business growth and strengthen customer relationships.

The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in beer and alcoholic beverage development, strong commercial awareness, and the ability to lead complex projects from concept through commercialization.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead the development and application of innovative solutions for alcoholic beverages, with a strong focus on beer-based categories.
  • Drive product innovation, formulation design, optimization, and commercialization projects.
  • Partner directly with strategic customers to understand business needs and present technical solutions.
  • Lead projects from concept through industrial scale-up, validation, and launch.
  • Provide technical support during pilot trials, plant trials, and commercialization activities.
  • Analyze physical, chemical, sensory, and shelf-life data to support product development.
  • Collaborate closely with Commercial, Operations, Quality, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Finance, and Sales teams.
  • Identify growth opportunities and contribute to new business development initiatives.
  • Serve as a technical mentor and thought leader within the organization.
  • Influence stakeholders across functions without direct reporting authority.

Qualifications and skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Engineering, Food Science, Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience within the food and beverage industry.
  • Strong expertise in Alcoholic Beverages, particularly:
    • Beer
    • Flavored Beer
    • Cheladas
    • RTDs
    • Hard Seltzers
    • Spirits & Mixers
    • Malt-Based Beverages
    • Fermented Beverage Applications
  • Experience managing innovation and commercialization projects.
  • Proven success working directly with strategic customers.
  • Experience leading complex technical programs and cross-functional teams.
  • Advanced English proficiency required.
  • Experience with Constellation Brands or similar beer-focused customers is highly desirable.
