This is not simply our job, it’s our passion.\nWith stunning resorts located across the globe and exciting expansion planned, Kerzner International currently has a fantastic opportunity for an Assistant Sommelier to join the Food & Beverage team at One&Only The Palm Resort in Dubai.\nWith the global growth of our brands, you will play a key role in the Resort’s success. As an Assistant Sommelier, you will support the wine program by assisting with wine service, guiding guests with selections, and ensuring a smooth and memorable dining experience. You will help maintain the wine cellar, manage inventory, and uphold our company’s core values while contributing to daily restaurant operations.\nKey Duties and Responsibilities\nAssist in recommending and serving wines based on guest preferences. \nPresent, open, and pour wine professionally following proper service standards. \nSupport guests in pairing wine selections with menu items. \nProvide accurate information about wine regions, varietals, vintages, and flavor profiles. \nEnhance guest satisfaction by delivering warm, attentive, and knowledgeable service.\nAssist the Head Sommelier in maintaining and updating the wine list. \nHelp promote premium wines, special vintages, and wine-by-the-glass selections. \nStay informed about new products, seasonal offerings, and industry trends.\nAssist in receiving, organizing, and storing wine bottles properly. \nEnsure correct labeling, rotation (FIFO), and handling of wine. \nConduct stock-taking and maintain accurate inventory records. \nReport low-stock items or discrepancies promptly.\nWork closely with the service team to ensure smooth coordination between wine service and food service. \nAssist in training servers on basic wine knowledge and service etiquette. \nSupport restaurant operations during peak service times as needed.\nAssist with wine-pairing dinners, tastings, and special events. \nParticipate in wine education sessions offered by suppliers or internal trainers.\nSuitable candidate should have a minimum of 2-year experience in the same in an upscale 5* hotel/resort environment capacity and have worked in a Michelin star rated restaurant with strong wine knowledge. Should have excellent management and interpersonal skills and be able to build strong relationships with high profile and diverse clientele. Should be a dynamic team player and able to provide the highest standard of service to our guests.
