This position is responsible for developing and maintaining facility and production line layouts, supporting strategic decisions regarding equipment placement and future expansion, and establishing accurate and accessible CAD documentation across our manufacturing facilities.\nThis role will partner closely with Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, and project teams to translate manufacturing requirements into practical facility and line designs. The individual will support both current capital projects and longer-term network planning by evaluating how new production lines, equipment, infrastructure, material flows, and supporting operations integrate within existing facilities.\nA key responsibility of this role will also be establishing and maintaining a single, reliable source of truth for facility and production drawings, ensuring CAD files and associated documentation are accurate, organized, controlled, and readily accessible to teams across the organization.\nTravel\nThis individual will travel primarily to North American operations, up to 50% of weeks.\nResponsibilities:\nManufacturing Facility & Line Design\nDevelop and maintain manufacturing facility master layouts, production line layouts, and equipment arrangement drawings.\nCreate layout concepts for new production lines, equipment installations, capacity expansions, relocations, and facility modifications.\nTranslate equipment, process, operational, material flow, and infrastructure requirements into coordinated facility designs.\nEvaluate alternative equipment and line configurations to identify layouts that best support operational efficiency, safety, maintainability, accessibility, and future flexibility.\nSupport early-stage project development by determining where and how new manufacturing equipment can be incorporated within existing facilities.\nPartner with technical SMEs to incorporate utility, structural, electrical, mechanical, fire protection, controls, and other infrastructure requirements into overall facility layouts.\nParticipate in design reviews throughout project development and execution to maintain alignment between approved layouts and final installations.\nNetwork Layout Strategy & Optimization\nI would make this its own section because I think it elevates the position beyond a drafting function.\nSupport development of a long-term manufacturing network layout strategy that considers current operations, future growth, capacity expansion, and facility constraints.\nEvaluate plant layouts holistically to identify opportunities to improve space utilization, material and people flow, equipment accessibility, operational efficiency, and future expansion capability.\nDevelop conceptual layouts and scenarios that enable leadership and project teams to compare alternative manufacturing strategies before significant capital commitments are made.\nHelp identify physical constraints, dependencies, and infrastructure considerations early in project development that may influence site selection, project scope, cost, or schedule.\nMaintain forward-looking facility concepts that provide visibility to how planned investments may affect future expansion opportunities.\nCAD Drawing & Documentation Ownership\nThe original description already has a strong foundation here, particularly its expectation to maintain drawings and a controlled database. But I would strengthen this significantly because it sounds like you want governance, not simply someone who can produce drawings.\nCreate, modify, and maintain accurate 2D and/or 3D CAD drawings for manufacturing facilities, production lines, equipment arrangements, and associated facility infrastructure.\nEstablish and maintain standardized CAD drawing practices, naming conventions, revision control, templates, and documentation requirements.\nOwn the organization and governance of facility and production layout documentation across the manufacturing network.\nEstablish a structured repository that provides teams with a reliable single source of truth for current facility and line drawings.\nEnsure drawings are updated following capital projects, equipment relocations, line modifications, facility changes, and major infrastructure modifications.\nCoordinate with project teams, vendors, OEMs, engineering firms, and site teams to collect final drawings and incorporate changes into master facility documentation.\nImprove the accessibility of drawings so Engineering, Operations, Maintenance, Safety, and project teams can reliably locate current information when needed.\nEstablish processes for drawing turnover and as-built documentation at project closeout.\nCapital Project & Engineering Support\nProvide layout and facility-design support across multiple capital projects simultaneously.\nDevelop conceptual layouts during early project development to help determine project feasibility, scope, and potential alternatives.\nSupport equipment placement and line configuration decisions using dimensional requirements, operational needs, service clearances, material flow, infrastructure requirements, and future expansion considerations.\nCollaborate with equipment suppliers, OEMs, engineering firms, contractors, and internal engineering resources to integrate equipment designs into facility layouts.\nReview vendor and engineering drawings for alignment with approved plant and line layouts.\nParticipate in design reviews, constructability reviews, and project planning sessions.\nSupport project teams during installation and commissioning when field conditions require layout or drawing modifications.\nStandards & Continuous Improvement\nDevelop and maintain standards for manufacturing facility layouts and production line documentation.\nPromote consistency in drawing quality, file management, revision control, and project documentation across sites.\nIncorporate lessons learned from completed projects into future facility and line design standards.\nSupport development of engineering standards related to equipment spacing, accessibility, maintainability, safety, and facility integration.\nIdentify opportunities to improve the tools, processes, and technology used for facility visualization and manufacturing layout planning.\nIt is unlawful in Massachusetts to require or administer a lie detector test as a condition of employment or continued employment. An employer who violates this law shall be subject to criminal penalties and civil liability.\nTotal Rewards:\nSalary Range: $96,800 - $150,000 USD\nActual placement within the compensation range may vary depending on experience, skills, and other factors\nBenefits, subject to election and eligibility: Medical, Dental, Vision, Disability, Paid Time Off (including paid parental leave, vacation, and sick time), 401k with company match, Tuition Reimbursement, and Mileage Reimbursement\nAnnual bonus based on performance and eligibility\nRequirements:\nBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.\n5+ years of experience developing production line, manufacturing facility, or industrial equipment layouts.\n5+ years of experience creating and maintaining CAD drawings within manufacturing or industrial environments.\nAdvanced proficiency with AutoCAD or comparable industrial CAD software; experience with 3D design tools is strongly preferred.\nDemonstrated experience translating equipment and manufacturing requirements into practical facility layouts.\nWorking knowledge of manufacturing infrastructure and utilities sufficient to coordinate requirements with engineering SMEs.\nUnderstanding of equipment clearances, access requirements, maintenance considerations, material flow, and industrial facility constraints.\nStrong technical documentation, drawing management, and organizational skills.\nExperience supporting capital projects from conceptual design through installation and project closeout.\nAbility to collaborate effectively with Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, Safety, OEMs, contractors, and engineering firms.\nAbility to manage multiple projects and facility layouts simultaneously across geographically dispersed manufacturing sites.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience within food, beverage, coffee, or consumer packaged goods manufacturing.\nExperience developing manufacturing master plans or long-range facility layouts.\nExperience with 3D facility modeling, laser scanning, point-cloud data, or other digital facility-capture technologies.\nExperience supporting brownfield manufacturing expansions where new production equipment must be integrated into operating facilities.\nFamiliarity with relevant OSHA, NFPA, building, fire, and electrical code considerations affecting equipment and facility layouts.\nExperience establishing CAD standards, document-control processes, or centralized engineering drawing repositories.\nExperience working directly with OEMs and engineering firms on equipment integration and facility design.\nKey Competencies\nStrong spatial and systems thinking\nManufacturing and operational mindset\nStrategic facility planning\nAttention to detail and drawing accuracy\nAbility to translate technical requirements into practical layouts\nStrong document-control discipline\nAbility to visualize future-state manufacturing configurations\nCross-functional collaboration\nPractical, solutions-oriented engineering judgment\nAbility to balance immediate project needs with long-term network flexibility\nCompany Overview:\nKeurig Dr Pepper (Nasdaq: KDP) is a leading beverage company with more than 150 owned, licensed and partner brands that meet a wide range of needs and occasions.
