Software Development Engineer in Test

We are looking for a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) who is passionate about building reliable, high-quality software through automation and engineering practices. The ideal candidate will work closely with Product, Engineering and QA teams to design and execute automated tests across web applications, APIs and integrations. You will play an important role in building scalable test automation, identifying quality gaps, and ensuring a smooth release process.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks for web applications and APIs.
• Create and execute functional, regression, integration and end-to-end test cases
• Automate repetitive manual testing scenarios and continuously improve test coverage.
• Perform API testing using tools such as Postman, REST Assured or similar.
• Test web applications using automation frameworks such as Selenium, Playwright or Cypress.
• Identify, investigate and report defects with clear reproduction steps and supporting evidence.
• Work closely with developers to debug failures, identify root causes and validate fixes.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
• Maintain test suites and ensure they remain reliable as the product evolves.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to improving automation framework quality.
• Work with product and engineering teams to define test strategy and quality standards for new features.
• Contribute to performance, reliability and integration testing where required.

Requirements:

• 3-5 years of experience in software testing/automation/SDET roles.
• Strong understanding of software testing concepts and methodologies.
• Good programming skills in at least one language: Java, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Hands-on experience with at least one automation framework: Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, Appium, if mobile testing is involved.
• Strong understanding of API testing and REST APIs.
• Experience with Postman, REST Assured or equivalent tools.
• Good understanding of SQL and databases.
• Familiarity with Git/GitHub/GitLab.
• Basic understanding of CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI or similar.
• Good understanding of debugging, defect lifecycle and root-cause analysis.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Good to Have:

• Experience testing AI/ML or LLM-based systems.
• Familiarity with Docker, cloud platforms (AWS/GCP), and microservices.
• Exposure to performance, load, or chaos testing.
• Understanding of data pipelines and ML workflows.
