an experienced Analyst Developer PL/I to work on business-critical applications in an IBM Mainframe environment.\nYou will combine technical analysis, hands-on development, corrective and evolutionary maintenance, testing and application support.\nYou will work on legacy applications that remain central to the organisation’s operational processes and will contribute to their stability, evolution and long-term maintainability.\nThe role requires both strong analytical capabilities and the ability to work directly with existing PL/I applications, understand complex dependencies and implement reliable technical changes\nYOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES :\nPerform technical analysis of existing Mainframe applications and business requirements.\n\nDevelop, modify and maintain applications written in PL/I.\n\nWork on corrective and evolutionary maintenance of business-critical applications.\n\nAnalyse existing code, application flows and technical dependencies before implementing changes.\n\nDevelop and maintain batch and, where applicable, transactional processing.\n\nWork with DB2 databases and embedded SQL within Mainframe applications.\n\nCreate, modify and maintain JCL jobs and batch chains.\n\nWork with IMS / DL/I and CICS environments where applicable.\n\nPerform unit, integration and non-regression testing.\n\nInvestigate application issues, production incidents and technical defects.\n\nPerform troubleshooting and root cause analysis on Mainframe applications.\n\nAnalyse ABENDs, batch failures, SQL errors and application behaviour.\n\nSupport deployment and production activities.\n\nContribute to performance optimisation of Mainframe programs and database access.\n\nCollaborate with functional analysts, developers, production teams and business stakeholders.\n\nDocument technical analyses, developments, fixes and application changes.\n\nContribute to the long-term stability and maintainability of legacy systems.\n\nRequirements\nYOUR PROFILE :\nProven professional experience as a PL/I Developer, Mainframe Developer, Analyst Programmer or Analyst Developer.\n\nStrong hands-on experience with PL/I / PL1 in a professional Mainframe environment.\n\nGood knowledge of IBM Mainframe and z/OS environments.\n\nStrong experience with DB2 and SQL.\n\nGood knowledge of JCL and batch processing.\n\nExperience with technical analysis and application development.\n\nAbility to analyse and understand existing legacy code with limited documentation.\n\nExperience in corrective and evolutionary maintenance.\n\nGood understanding of testing, debugging and application support processes.\n\nExperience with TSO / ISPF is expected.\n\nExperience with CICS is a strong asset.\n\nExperience with IMS / DL/I is a strong asset.\n\nExperience with BMP or transactional Mainframe processing is an asset.\n\nExperience with schedulers such as TWS, Control-M or equivalent is an asset.\n\nExperience in production support, incident analysis and ABEND troubleshooting is highly appreciated.\n\nExperience in banking, insurance, healthcare, mutualities or other business-critical legacy environments is a strong asset.\n\nAbility to work independently from technical analysis through development, testing and production support.\n\nStrong analytical mindset, accuracy and problem-solving skills.\n\nGood
