This position focuses on customer-funded engineering projects involving robotics, automation, motion systems, fixtures, and other mechatronic solutions.\nThe successful candidate will work closely with mechanical, electrical, software, manufacturing, and project management teams to deliver reliable, cost-effective automation systems from concept through customer deployment. This role requires strong technical judgment, hands-on engineering skills, and the ability to independently execute complex projects.\nResponsibilities\nDesign and develop custom automated and mechatronic systems based on customer requirements.\nCreate complete CAD models, detailed drawings, bills of materials, and supporting engineering documentation.\nSupport system assembly, integration, troubleshooting, validation, installation, and customer acceptance activities.\nPerform engineering analysis, including tolerance studies, mechanical design, and mechanical or thermal FEA as required.\nCollaborate with customers, suppliers, technicians, and cross-functional engineering teams throughout project execution.\nIdentify opportunities to improve reliability, manufacturability, performance, and cost.\nQualifications\nBSME, MSME, or equivalent engineering degree and experience.\nFive to fifteen years of experience in mechanical design, robotics, automation, mechatronics, machine design, or a related engineering discipline.\nStrong knowledge of mechanical engineering fundamentals, manufacturing processes, machine design, 3D CAD, and engineering documentation.\nDemonstrated ability to independently develop effective solutions, perform mechanical or thermal analysis, and manage multiple projects.\nAbility to create simple electrical and pneumatic schematics.\nStrong communication skills and the ability to work directly with customers, vendors, and multidisciplinary teams.\nHands-on experience with system assembly, troubleshooting, and integration.\nMust be a US Person.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience with Siemens NX and Teamcenter.\nExperience designing robotic, automated, pneumatic, or motion-control systems.\nExperience working directly with customers and supplier partners.\nExperience supporting equipment installation and field deployment.\nKnowledge of machining, fabrication, prototyping, and manufacturing processes.\nThis position requires access to technology and/or technical data that is subject to U.S. export controls.
