This role provides technical leadership for software and multi-disciplinary engineering teams, drives innovation in products and services, and influences strategic technology direction.\nLeveraging deep expertise in C++, CUDA, Linux systems, kernel and user-space development, the role solves complex technical challenges, mentors engineers, and collaborates across functions to deliver high-quality, high-performance solutions. The successful candidate combines exceptional technical depth, leadership, innovation, and a results-focused approach to create lasting business and customer value.\nResponsibilities\nPlay a senior technical role in assigned software projects as a member of the Software team.\nContribute to the software development life-cycle from its design to implementation and validation. \nLeading focused software and/or multi-disciplined Engineering teams to deliver projects and programs.\nPlay a role in developing and defining new product concepts and ideas for both Product and Services.\nConnect with other functional areas within the organization to drive technical solutions.\nQualifications\nQualifications\nMasters degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a similar discipline such as Electronic Engineering\nExtensive relevant experience in a similar role (~8 years) with the ability to add value with limited development\nExperience\nStrong knowledge and demonstrable experience of CUDA and C++\nHands-on experience in working within a structured engineering environment that includes:\nRequirements Analysis/Definition\nDesign/Implementation\nDefect Tracking\nTesting\nCan effectively apply Spirent’s ISO accredited Product Realisation Process (PRP)\nDemonstrable mentoring and training experience\nVery good understanding of Linux based operating systems architecture and how to optimize for performance\nLinux Kernel and User Space development experience\nGood knowledge in Virtualized environment and Intel® architecture\nKnowledge or experience in VS Code or Visual Studio®, product and WSL\nGood knowledge of UML software architecture modelling (Preferred)\nKnowledge of configuration management tools and software version control (GitHub Preferred)\nKnowledge of CI best practice (Preferred)\nBehaviours\nAbility to solve complex, high impact problems.\nCommunicates effectively, listens sensitively, adapts communication to audience and fosters effective communication with others.\nSteps up and takes action without being asked.
