In this role, you will be responsible for:\nEnsuring products meet targets for yield, Out-of-Box Experience (OBE), reliability, and warranty performance.\nPerforming failure analysis on optical, photonic, and manufacturing-related defects, identifying root causes, and implementing corrective actions to improve product quality and reliability.\nDriving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance manufacturing yield, optical performance, reliability, manufacturability, and cost competitiveness.\nTroubleshooting optical and manufacturing issues using structured problem-solving techniques, including Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Six Sigma, and Lean methodologies.\nSupporting production activities to ensure uninterrupted manufacturing operations and on-time customer shipments.\nCollaborating with contract manufacturers and suppliers to ensure compliance with optical, mechanical, and quality specifications.\nManaging product data within ERP systems, including Bills of Materials (BOM), approved vendor lists, and engineering change implementations.\nEvaluating and recommending technical specifications for optical components and assemblies, including lasers, photodiodes, optical filters, fiber-optic components, polarization control devices, opto-mechanical assemblies, and optical interconnects.\nWorking with design engineering teams to optimize optical alignment, assembly processes, calibration methodologies, and production test strategies.\nIdentifying, qualifying, and implementing alternative optical components, materials, and suppliers to support product sustainability, supply continuity, and cost optimization.\nSupporting product transfers, new product introductions (NPI), and lifecycle management activities while maintaining product quality and performance requirements.\nAnalyzing optical performance data and reliability trends to drive corrective and preventive actions that improve overall product robustness and customer satisfaction.\nQualifications\nBachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree. in Photonics Engineering, Optical Engineering, Optoelectronics Engineering, Electrical & Electronic Engineering, or related disciplines.\nKnowledge of laser technologies, fiber optics, optical communication systems, photonic devices, and optical test methodologies.\nFamiliarity with photonic components such as lasers, photodiodes, optical filters, polarization controllers, optical switches, and opto-mechanical assemblies.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to perform root cause analysis and drive corrective actions.\nKnowledge of manufacturing processes, statistical process control, Six Sigma, or Lean methodologies is an advantage.\nEffective communication and teamwork skills in a cross-functional engineering environment.\nCareers Privacy Statement ***Keysight is an Equal Opportunity Employer.***\nProduct Engineer (Photonics / Optical Engineering)\nAs a member of the Product Engineering Team, you will work closely with cross-functional teams including R&D, Manufacturing, Procurement, Planning, and Quality throughout the development of new photonics products, ensuring a successful transition from design to volume production.
