This position provides hands-on experience with thin film manufacturing processes, tooling design, process documentation, and manufacturing engineering. The intern will work closely with engineers, technicians, and operators to develop robust manufacturing processes and improve production capabilities.\nKey Responsibilities\nLearn basic proficiency in a Thin Film manufacturing workcenter: deposition, lithography, electroplating, dry etching, or laser\nDesign, prototype, and improve substrate holding fixtures and manufacturing tooling\nUtilize CAD software to develop mechanical designs and engineering drawings\nCollaborate with engineering and operations teams to identify tooling challenges and implement solutions\nSupport fabrication, testing, and validation of new fixture designs\nEvaluate fixture performance and recommend continuous improvements\nQualifications\nQualifications\nCurrently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline\nCompleted at least sophomore-level coursework\nExperience with mechanical design principles and CAD software through coursework, projects, or extracurricular activities\nStrong written and verbal communication skills\nAbility to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams\nInterest in manufacturing engineering, automation, microfabrication, or precision equipment\nCandidates who wish to be considered must be enrolled in an accredited college/university as of September 2027. Applicants who have graduated before September 2027 will not be considered unless they are entering/applying to a MS or PHD program after graduating.\nCA Pay Range\n$32.03 -$34.49\nBased on experience, education and skills, most offers will be between the minimum and the midpoint of the Salary Range listed above.\nNote: For other locations, pay ranges will vary by region.\nVisa Sponsorship is not available for this position.
