This role will contribute to the ongoing modernization of the 3458A ecosystem, a critical program focused on improving long-term supportability, operational efficiency, and measurement capability across calibration and service operations.\nWorking alongside senior metrologists and standards engineers, the intern will support engineering projects involving data analysis, test execution, process improvement, technical documentation, and automation initiatives. The position provides hands-on exposure to precision measurement science, calibration technologies, and laboratory operations while contributing to initiatives with enterprise-wide impact.\nThis role offers a unique opportunity to gain experience in a highly specialized technical environment and develop foundational skills in metrology, engineering analysis, and continuous improvement.\nResponsibilities\nSupport engineering activities associated with the 3458A ecosystem modernization program.\nCollect, organize, and analyze technical and operational data.\nAssist with test execution, validation activities, and results documentation.\nSupport development and maintenance of engineering procedures, work instructions, and technical documentation.\nAssist in the evaluation and characterization of hardware, software, and measurement processes.\nSupport laboratory automation, data-management, and continuous improvement projects.\nPrepare reports, presentations, and project status updates.\nMaintain laboratory records in accordance with quality and traceability requirements.\nWork collaboratively with engineers, metrologists, and cross-functional teams on assigned projects.\nFollow established safety, quality, and laboratory procedures.\nQualifications\nMinimum Qualifications\nCurrently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or related technical field.\nCompleted at least two years of undergraduate coursework or equivalent academic progress.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills.\nAbility to work independently on assigned tasks while seeking guidance when needed.\nEffective written and verbal communication skills.\nProficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.\nAbility to organize and manage multiple assignments.\nPreferred Qualifications\nInterest in metrology, precision measurement, calibration, or test and measurement technologies.\nExperience with data analysis and visualization tools.\nFamiliarity with programming or scripting languages such as Python, MATLAB, or similar tools.\nExposure to laboratory testing environments.\nExperience with process improvement,
