This role is responsible for defining architecture strategy, driving platform modernization, ensuring secure and reliable product execution, and guiding engineering teams across the full software development lifecycle.\nResponsibilities\nDefine and own the Windows Embedded software architecture, platform roadmap, and technical standards for Host Processor Platform (HPP) products and engineering teams.\nProvide senior technical leadership in system design, architecture governance, software reuse strategy, scalability, security, reliability, and long-term maintainability.\nArchitect, design, and guide development of secure, reliable, and high-performance Windows applications, common libraries, system services, and low-level software components.\nLead Windows system-level design activities, including hardware-software integration, device communication, driver interaction, diagnostics, serviceability, and product recovery mechanisms.\nDrive Windows platform modernization initiatives, including build system improvements, DevOps automation, CI/CD pipelines, installer/update strategy, image customization, and long-term servicing approach.\nPartner with hardware, firmware, QA, security, manufacturing, service, and product teams to deliver robust embedded software solutions for HPP instruments and platforms.\nGuide product security and compliance readiness, including OS hardening, vulnerability remediation, third-party component governance, SBOM readiness, and secure software development practices.\nMentor senior and junior engineers, influence technical direction across teams, and help grow engineering capability in Windows Embedded platform development.\nDemonstrate strong ownership for platform quality, reliability, security, maintainability, engineering excellence, continuous improvement, and customer-focused execution\nQualifications\nBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline.\nTypically 10 or more years of experience in embedded software, firmware, Windows system-level development, or related software engineering roles.\nStrong proficiency in C/C++ and object-oriented design, with hands-on experience developing multi-threaded, high-performance software on Windows platforms.\nProven experience architecting complex Windows-based embedded systems, including software architecture, design patterns, system performance optimization, reliability, and cybersecurity considerations.\nHands-on experience with Windows Embedded or industrial Windows platforms such as Windows 10/11 IoT Enterprise, Windows Embedded Standard, or other long-lifecycle Windows-based product environments.\nDeep understanding of Windows system architecture, including Windows services, user-mode and kernel-mode interaction, device interfaces, installer/update mechanisms, system recovery, and debugging practices.\nFamiliarity with hardware communication protocols such as I2C, UART, SPI, USB, PCIe, Ethernet, and TCP/IP.\nExperience with non-volatile storage technologies such
