We design and build custom software used across Keysight's Santa Rosa wafer fab, test floor and assembly lines for everything from wafer maps to electrical test orchestration and automation, data transformation, and extensions of our manufacturing execution systems (MES).\nThe chips we make go into Keysight's own instruments. This role is about learning to engineer software well, not IT or equipment support. You'll learn from experienced developers and work directly with the engineers, operators and technicians who use what we build.\nMost of our work is in C#/.NET: desktop applications and test-station software, plus web applications and APIs in ASP.NET, backed by SQL Server. Every change is code-reviewed, and builds and tests run automatically.\nWhat you'll do:\nFix bugs and add features in software used every day across the fab: applications, shared libraries, data pipelines, and the software on our wafer test stations.\nHelp build software for new areas of the fab.\nWork with the engineers, operators and technicians who use our software, and build what they need.\nHelp support production: investigate errors from the floor and from Sentry, with a senior developer.\nWrite tests for existing code, and learn to change production code safely.\nQualifications\nBachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or a related field, completed between May 2026 and June 2027, or a recent graduate with under 2 years of professional experience.\nSolid object-oriented programming in C#, Java or C++, shown through internships, projects, research or open-source work.\nAt least one substantial program you built or significantly changed that you can walk through in detail.\nBasic SQL: joins, grouping and filtering.\nComfortable with a debugger and with Git.\nClear written and spoken communication.\nDesired:\nA software internship or co-op.\nC#/.NET experience.\nSoftware that works with data from real systems: files, sensors, equipment or databases.\nExposure to manufacturing or semiconductors.\nDesktop (WPF) or web (ASP.NET) development.\nLocation: This role requires an in-person, hands-on engineer who can physically work with the manufacturing systems in Santa Rosa, CA.\nThis position requires access to certain goods, software, technology, or technical data subject to U.S. export control laws and regulations.
