You will be an integral part of our product and platform development team, collaborating with multiple teams to deliver high-quality and highly scalable products.\nRequirements\n4+ years of medium to large scale server-side software development experience.\nStrong working knowledge of a backend programming language like Clojure and Java in production.\nThorough knowledge of CS fundamentals: Data structures and time complexity of algorithms.\nKnowledge of system design and architecture.\nExperience in working with any one of YugabyteDB, Redis, Elasticsearch, Kafka or Postgresql.\nKnowledge of Posix compliant operating systems (we develop on Mac OS X and deploy on GNU/Linux).\nComfortable using CLI tools for achieving day-to-day tasks.\nEfficiency with code editor of choice.\nExperience in writing unit and integration tests.\nExcellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to issue resolution.\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills.\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or equivalent).\nResponsibilities\nWork on the Resiliency, Availability and Latency of our Core platform and services that are delivered to 820M monthly active users and can scale to 100K+ RPS.\nWork with multiple databases and ensure scalability for the interacting platform components.\nTake ownership and publish (internal) reusable services and APIs.\nEnable feature teams to use the Core platform.\nWrite clean code with proper test coverage.\nReview others’ code and ensure that it is up to organization standards.\nMentor junior members of the team.\nOptimize application for maximum speed and scalability.\nParticipate in the hiring process.\nKeep calm and learn every day.\nNice to Have\nKnowledge of frontend development and tools, especially JavaScript and React.\nKnowledge of functional programming is a plus (we use Clojure).\nExperience with benchmarking systems for performance, and failure detection.\nExperience in working with any of the above databases at scale is good to have.\nBenefits\n Hybrid setup\n Worker's insurance\n Paid Time Offs\n Other employee benefits to be discussed by our Talent Acquisition team in India. \n Helpshift embraces diversity.
