This involves receiving, prioritizing and forwarding referrals as well as coordinating, cancelling and rebooking appointments. The Referral Coordinator is also involved in the coordination of transportation on the Weeneebayko Charter and administrative duties related to med-evacs, ground transportation and escorts.\nThe Referral Coordinator fulfills her/his responsibilities in a manner, which reflects in the mission and values of Hotel Dieu and respects the culture of Mushkegowuk people.\nPRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:\nMaintain an integrated referral and appointment system;\nCoordinate, cancel and rebook outpatient appointments;\nFlight and Ground Transportation Coordination;\nEscort request administration\nPerforms other duties as assigned by the Director and Program Manager.\nEach employee is accountable for:\nFollowing safe working practices\nCarrying out duties in a way that embodies the mission and values of Hotel Dieu Hospital\nWorking co-operatively with fellow employees and supervisors towards the achievement of the Hospital’s goals and objectives.\nBASIC QUALIFICATIONS:\nTwo year college diploma and/or equivalent in education and work experience.\nAdvanced knowledge of computers (Microsoft Office Word and Excel will be tested)\n1-3 years in a related position\nKnowledge of medical terminology\nProven ability to attend work regularly.\nSatisfactory criminal reference check with vulnerable sector search.\nDESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:\nGood oral and written communication skills\nAbility to work independently and as part of a team\nExcellent attention to detail\nThe ability to speak Mushkegowuk Cree is an Asset but is not required.\nPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:\nThe applicant must meet the physical demands of this position.\nIf you are unable to submit an application online, you may submit your cover letter and resume by fax to the IPS fax number: 613-544-0497\nKHSC is located on the ancestral lands and waters of the Anishinaabeg and Haudenosaunee and serves a wider geographical area that encompasses many Indigenous communities including Tyendinaga, Katarokwi, as well as communities within the Weeneebayko Area Health Authority.
