This is an in-person role focused on owning and evolving our backend services to create a modern, AI-native developer experience.\nYou will\nPartner with the Product, AI, and Operations teams to architect new features and complex agentic systems.\nBuild and maintain backend services and APIs that power Kick’s core product to ensure systems are secure, well-tested and high performance.\nMake clear architectural tradeoffs that balance between platform, product and business goals.\nDesign and implement distributed services to orchestrate data pipelines, automate investigations, and enable incident response at scale.\nOwn operational best practices so engineers can ship multiple times a day with confidence.\nSet engineering standards for writing, communication and system design influencing how a modern AI-native product is built.\nWe're looking for someone with\n5-10+ years of experience designing, building and operating production backend systems.\nDeep backend engineering skills including API design, data modeling and reasoning about distributed systems tradeoffs.\nHands on experience running AWS/GCP with a strong understanding of how infrastructure impacts application reliability and performance.\nPractical experience with CI/CD including testing and deployment strategies.\nSolid grasp of observability and healthy on-call practices.\nBonus if you have\nExperience as an engineer at an early-stage or scaling startup.\nExposure to modern AI/ML systems.\nExperience working on product without a product manager\nOur tech\nTypeScript, React, Node.js\nAWS, Terraform\nPostgres\nOpenAI, Azure AI\nGitHub, Slack, Linear, Figma, Notion\nLocation\nWroclaw, Poland, 4-5 days per week in person\nOffice is located next to the Wroclaw main train station\nCandidates should be based in Wroclaw or open to relocation\nWhat we offer\n$130,000-$190,000 USD salary + competitive equity\n$100/mo wellness and commute stipend\nPremium hardware (MacBook Pro/AirPods)\nDaily in-office lunch and dinner\nWe’re building a world-class team of creative thinkers and doers from diverse backgrounds.
