Working closely with Systems Engineering, Hardware, Product Management, Cybersecurity, QA, and Cloud teams, you will design and develop secure, reliable, and scalable software for Linux-based embedded devices.\nYour work will directly influence platform architecture, connectivity, cybersecurity, device management, and future product capabilities.\n\nRole Description\nExperienced embedded software professional, working independently on complex technical challenges.\nConverts system requirements into robust software solutions for embedded Linux platforms.\nParticipates in the design and evolution of a common platform supporting multiple security product families.\nContributes to architectural decisions across software, connectivity, security, and device management.\nWorks throughout the product lifecycle, from concept and development through deployment and maintenance.\nCollaborates closely with cross-functional engineering teams to deliver reliable and secure products.\n\nResponsibilities\nDesign, develop, test, and maintain software for Embedded Linux based security products.\nDevelop platform services, communication layers, and application components supporting Access Control and Intrusion solutions.\nParticipate in software architecture discussions and technical design reviews.\nDevelop and maintain networking and communication interfaces, including Ethernet, TCP/IP, RS485, OSDP, BLE, and other device protocols.\nCustomize and maintain Embedded Linux distributions using Yocto or Buildroot.\nDesign and implement cybersecurity features such as Secure Boot, secure software updates, device authentication, and encrypted communication.\nDevelop Python-based tools for automation, diagnostics, testing, manufacturing support, and engineering productivity.\nOptimize system performance, reliability, memory usage, startup time, and overall platform stability.\nTroubleshoot complex software and integration issues across hardware and software layers.\nContribute to verification, validation, certification, and production readiness activities.\nCollaborate with global engineering teams to ensure consistency, maintainability, and knowledge sharing.\nPrepare and maintain technical documentation, design specifications, and development guidelines.\n\nRequirements & Technical Skills\nBachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electronics, Telecommunications, or a related field.\nMinimum 3 years of experience developing embedded software.\nStrong experience developing software for Embedded Linux platforms.\nExcellent knowledge of C/C++.\nGood knowledge of Python for scripting, automation, testing, and development tooling.\nPractical experience with Yocto and/or Buildroot.\nStrong understanding of Linux fundamentals\nExperience designing and implementing networking and communication solutions.\nExperience with Git and modern version control workflows.\nStrong debugging and troubleshooting skills.\nIndependence, creativity, and strong problem-solving abilities.\nExcellent written and verbal English communication skills.\n\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience developing electronic security products, including Access Control, Intrusion Detection, Video Surveillance, or IoT solutions.\nExperience with OSDP, RS485, BLE, or similar communication technologies.\nExperience with Secure Boot, secure software updates, device authentication, and public key infrastructure (PKI).\nExperience with cloud-connected devices and edge computing architectures.\nExperience with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks.\nFamiliarity with Linux kernel customization, BSP integration, or device driver development.\nExperience working with internationally distributed engineering teams.\n\nIdeal Candidate\nA hands-on engineer who combines strong Linux expertise with practical product development experience.
