Working closely with Systems Engineering, Hardware, Embedded Software, Product Management, Manufacturing, Compliance, and Industrial Design teams, you will design innovative, reliable, and manufacturable mechanical solutions for professional security products.\nYour work will directly influence product usability, reliability, manufacturability, installation experience, environmental robustness, and long-term product quality. The platform will support products designed to meet demanding security and certification requirements, including EN 50131 Grade 3 compliance for professional intrusion detection systems.\nRole Description\nMechanical design engineer contributing to the development of advanced security products.\nParticipates in the design and evolution of a common platform supporting both Intrusion and Access Control product families.\nTranslates product and system requirements into robust mechanical designs.\nSupports the complete product lifecycle from concept and development through verification, certification, manufacturing, and sustaining.\nWorks closely with cross-functional engineering teams to ensure reliable, cost-effective, and manufacturable solutions.\nContributes to new product development, sustaining activities, productivity improvements, and Value Engineering initiatives.\nResponsibilities\nDevelop mechanical designs for security devices, control panels, peripherals, and related accessories.\nDesign plastic, sheet metal, and assembled mechanical components for embedded electronic products.\nCreate and maintain 3D models, engineering drawings, and product documentation using SolidWorks.\nSupport the development of a common enclosure and mechanical architecture across product families.\nEnsure designs support installation, serviceability, manufacturability, cost, and reliability requirements.\nDefine and execute mechanical validation and environmental test plans.\nCollaborate with Hardware and Embedded Software teams to support product integration activities.\nParticipate in design reviews and technical risk assessments.\nSupport compliance and certification activities, including products requiring EN 50131 Grade 3 certification.\nSupport manufacturing, supplier qualification, and production ramp-up activities.\nParticipate in Value Engineering initiatives aimed at improving cost, quality, and component availability.\nCooperate with external suppliers, tooling vendors, and manufacturing partners.\nMaintain and update technical.\nPrepare and review laboratory test requests, reports, and validation results.\nRequirements & Technical Skills\nBachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.\nMinimum 3-5 years of experience in product design and development.\nMinimum 2 years of experience using CAD tools for mechanical design.\nStrong proficiency in SolidWorks for 3D modeling and engineering documentation.\nExperience designing mechanical components for electronic or electromechanical products.\nUnderstanding of manufacturing processes such as: injection molding, sheet metal fabrication, assembly processes.\nExperience preparing engineering drawings and product documentation.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills.\nAbility to independently drive design tasks and manage priorities.\nGood written and verbal English communication skills.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience designing products for security, access control, intrusion detection, fire safety, or IoT applications.\nFamiliarity with EN 50131 requirements and certification processes.\nExperience designing outdoor or environmentally challenging products.\nKnowledge of environmental, vibration, durability, and reliability testing.\nExperience with mechanical tolerance analysis and Design for Manufacturing (DFM).\nExperience with Design for Assembly (DFA) methodologies.\nFamiliarity with Value Engineering and cost optimization initiatives.\nExperience working with international manufacturing partners and suppliers.\nExperience with Atlassian tools including Jira and Confluence.\nIdeal Candidate\nA practical and innovative mechanical engineer who enjoys developing products from concept to production.
