Operating at both the architecture and execution levels, the role delivers highly available, resilient, and cost-effective hybrid platforms and leads the resolution of complex cloud, data center, networking, security, and performance issues.\nReporting to the Senior Manager, Cloud Engineering and partnering closely with application, security, infrastructure, and network teams, the Multi Cloud Engineer is a highly self-driven, hands-on engineer who takes complex cloud initiatives from concept through production. The role applies an engineering mindset (Infrastructure-as-Code, automation, and a “fix for good” approach) while thriving amid changing priorities, deadlines, and a highly variable workload.\nKey Responsibilities\nCloud Architecture & Engineering\nLead cloud infrastructure architecture, operations, and modernization efforts across AWS and Azure environments.\nDesign, implement, and support highly available, secure, and scalable cloud platforms and services for business-critical enterprise applications.\nDesign and maintain cloud networking, including VPCs/VNets, subnets, routing, peering, transit gateways, VPN, Direct Connect/ExpressRoute, load balancing, and DNS, in partnership with the Network team.\nBuild and manage compute, storage, database, and platform services (e.g., EC2, S3, RDS, Azure Virtual Machines, Azure Storage, Azure SQL) to meet performance, availability, and cost requirements.\nEstablish landing zones, account and subscription structures, and tagging standards to support consistent, well-governed multi-cloud growth.\nSupport workload migrations and application modernization from on-premises VMware and legacy platforms to AWS and Azure, and maintain hybrid connectivity between KGS data centers and the cloud.\nProduce cloud architecture and design documentation, runbooks, work instructions, and root cause analysis reports.\nHybrid Cloud & Data Center Operations\nSupport on-premises and data center infrastructure, including HPE servers, storage, and hardware and VMware vSphere, ESXi, and vCenter virtualization platforms, covering provisioning, patching, firmware updates, and lifecycle management.\nDrive monitoring, alerting, and observability across cloud and on-premises environments (e.g., Amazon CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, VMware vCenter, HPE iLO/OneView) to proactively detect, diagnose, and resolve issues.\nDesign, test, and maintain backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions for cloud and data center workloads, and perform capacity planning, performance tuning, and cost optimization across both.\nCloud Security & Governance\nImplement and maintain cloud security controls, including identity and access management, encryption and key management, network segmentation, and security baselines across AWS and Azure.\nPartner with the Security team and Managed Security Services Provider to monitor and respond to cloud security events and remediate vulnerabilities and audit findings.\nSupport governance, compliance, and policy enforcement (e.g., AWS Organizations and SCPs, Azure Policy) and contribute to incident response and disaster recovery plans.\nService & Support\nTroubleshoot and resolve complex cloud, networking, security, and performance issues as a senior escalation point, within published SLA/OLA response times.\nProvide hands-on production support, including participation in an on-call rotation for critical cloud services.\nApply ITIL Incident, Problem, Change, and Configuration Management practices, recording and tracking all actions in the ITSM tool through final resolution.\nPartner with application, security, and infrastructure teams to deliver business-critical projects and operational improvements.\nCoordinate with cloud providers, technology vendors, and managed service providers to deploy, integrate, upgrade, or decommission cloud services.\nAutomation & Continuous Improvement\nDrive cloud automation and Infrastructure-as-Code (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation, Bicep) to standardize provisioning, configuration, and change.\nBuild and maintain CI/CD pipelines and scripted automation (e.g., Python, PowerShell) to streamline deployments and operational tasks.\nProvide technical leadership and mentoring while remaining hands-on in engineering, implementation, and production support; evaluate and help adopt emerging cloud technologies.\nSubscribe to and promote IT policies, health & safety standards, and KGS values.\nBasic Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree in a related field, or equivalent experience.\nMinimum of 4 years’ experience in cloud infrastructure, operations, or platform engineering, ideally in a global or multi-site enterprise environment.\nDeep expertise with AWS cloud services and architecture; working knowledge of Microsoft Azure.\nStrong experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar), automation, and DevOps practices.\nHands-on experience supporting on-premises data center infrastructure, including HPE server and storage hardware and VMware virtualization (vSphere, ESXi, vCenter), in enterprise-scale production environments with high availability and security requirements.\nStrong understanding of cloud networking, security, monitoring, and disaster recovery.\nProven ability to independently lead and execute mission-critical projects in fast-paced environments.\nAble to work US timezone hours the majority of the time.\nFlexible schedule to accommodate on-call and after-hours needs; ability to travel up to 10%.\nPreferred Qualifications\nAWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, SysOps Administrator, or DevOps Engineer).\nMicrosoft Azure certifications (e.g., Azure Administrator Associate or Azure Solutions Architect Expert).\nExperience with Kubernetes and containers (e.g., Amazon EKS, Azure AKS, Docker).\nExperience building and supporting CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Jenkins).\nExperience with hybrid cloud environments that integrate on-premises HPE and VMware data center infrastructure with AWS and Azure.\nStrong scripting and automation skills using Python, PowerShell, or similar technologies.\nExperience with cloud cost management and FinOps practices.\nExperience with cloud security tooling (e.g., AWS Security Hub, Amazon GuardDuty, Microsoft Defender for Cloud).\nVMware certifications (e.g., VCP-DCV) or HPE platform experience (e.g., ProLiant, Synergy, Alletra/Nimble storage, iLO, OneView).\nITIL Foundation certification.\nExperience working with cloud providers, technology vendors, and managed service providers.\nExperience producing technical and cloud architecture documentation.\nKey Competencies\nStrong customer focus and professional standards.\nStrong communication skills with stakeholders.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills;
